Hope it's ok posting 80s toys in the Vintage Toys section?...if not I'll post in Modern Monster Toys.

'M.U.S.C.L.E' men (millions of unusual creatures lurking everywhere) were sold in boxes of 28 and in random 'trashcan' packages. The flesh coloured (and imo superior) figures came out first, followed by bright coloured figures. There was a seemingly endless number of these little critters. I still own a bundle from my childhood.

The 80's are included in our definition of Vintage here on UMA. After all, the 80's were on average over thirty years ago!

Crossbows and Catapults was an action game that pitted two armies against each other. The aim was to destroy each others defences and take out the flags and soldiers, all with the power of elastic bands! I was lucky enough to own the Cyclops and Minotaur. I never had the Dragon.

The bottom two pics are my daughters playing with my brother's set yesterday at his house. He has kept them safe all these years!

'Supernaturals' came out during a mini-craze of holographic toys in the mid 80s. I was obsessed with these. The quality of the holograms were fantastic. Check out the invisible man on the figure on the right of the first pic! The playset with with the coffin was a cool toy. The coffin held a figure and you turned a switch which dropped the figure into another compartment and when you opened it up the figure was gone, and the inside of the coffin had turned into a hologram depicting various creatures and spooks!

Quite the range I see!

You could probably play at a range of about 15 feet. It's a really fun and addictive game! (Our battle ended up getting pretty serious, with me and my brother down to the last man!).

He's odd, he's Ogg, and he's treasured by monster toy collectors everywhere!

Ideal came out with Odd Ogg in 1962. The objective was to roll a ball directly into Odd Ogg's center which caused Odd Ogg to roll forward. If however the ball struck Odd Ogg just off to the side, he would stick out its tongue and move backwards. So of course every kid's objective soon became to hit Odd Ogg just off centre.

'ODD OGG' is awesome!

'Boglins' were puppets made of flexible rubber and initially came in two sizes. They had a really cool moving eye mechanism that you could operate with one finger to swivel the eyes from side to side. These critters captured my imagination as a kid.

'BREATH BLASTERS' were a smelly (and  I mean smelly) toy that were actually recalled after a short time on the shelves due to them containing 'harmful chemicals', which isn't surprising considering how bad these smelled. I really can't understate how putrid they were...they absolutely stank! In fact, my 'Victor Vomit' toy was so bad I had to wrap it in several plastic bags and seal it inside a biscuit tin, never to be opened. The characters were as follows:

Death Breath
Victor Vomit
Ms Morning Mouth
Dog Breath
Mackerel Mouth
George Garbagemouth.
