Yeah, it was the only one that looked like a serious, modern figure in the line. (Which kinda' killed the whole point of the line though).
Not really. Nothing stated that the line had to be poorly sculpted. I would rather have one good figure and seven mediocre ones, than eight mediocre ones (for consistency's sake).

They definitely LOOK like the Phantom, and none of them are poorly sculpted, but when I look at certain Frankenstein figures, or Creature figures, I can tell how accurate they are to the films and some of them just feel like they can come to life.  The Phantoms never did that for me.  I always felt they were just sculpted representations of him.  The Sideshow bust is the best, I think, but the Sideshow 8 inch is too goofy for me, even the newer head they gave him for the Silver Screen version.

That's just me, guys! I'm too nitpicky  :P

I think the Phantom is one of the characters they usually get right. I can't think of many bad Phantom toys at all. The EMCE Mego Phantom was the star of the entire line.

Sideshow never did a Phantom bust. Are you thinking of the Cine-art one? I'm incredibly picky, and I love the Sideshow figures (the 1/4 scale being best). Though one of my favorite Phantoms is the NECA Headknocker by Ray Santoleri.

While I appreciate their scarcity, I have never cared for the Lincoln Monster Figures.  I also detest the Mezco Frankenstein figures.

Incidently, the Cine-Art, Phantom bust is probably one of my
favorite items in my collection. Yet....still in storage.

Any cartoonish take on our beloved Uni monsters. Who the hell wants to display that rubbish? Hate 'em with a passion.

Pretty sure the 8 inch was going for this:

Well, after 18 years of collecting, I've seen lots of crappy interpretations of Classic Monsters, but if I'm a fan of that monster I usually cave in and buy it anyway. I'm not that picky. I like some variety! If the likeness is off…ah well. And like someone else stated in this thread: I too hate the Funko Pop vinyl figures. Ugliest toys I've ever seen. Not into their stylized look at all. Reminds me of Japanese anime stuff…another genre of toys that I loathe.

No, not really. I don't hate it though as it's more of a different take on the monster than a Saturday morning cartoon version of him.
