Are the Dark Horse Universal Monsters novels worth seeking out?

I'm probably getting the Creature one no matter what, but I was curious about the rest.

I thought they were a little hit and miss. I read them several years ago, and while I appreciated Dark Horse taking a chance with the Universal properties and releasing those novels, I felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities.

I most remember the Frankenstein novel and the Bride of Frankenstein novel not being related to each other continuity-wise, which I found odd since the original films were linked together so clearly.

That is strange.  I'm curious about the bride one.  Mostly because she didn't live very long.
