The Red Death 30

So it's not an anthology but a season long story with the 1st season involving New Orleans voodoo?? Soooo cliche

From what I've read he's going to be using
the old witch more true to the comic then HBO.
mortals are not permitted...die and come back

So, apparently, this has been cancelled.

I, for one, am very pleased.

Why would you be pleased at this? I missed this thread the first time around and now I am very disappointed with the update. If you are a fan of the franchise and genre, to see it have a rebirth, is a dream come true. I wish the show on HBO had never been cancelled and was still going today, but it is not. I would have loved to see more stories and hopefully the Crypt Keeper again. Even if it was for one movie.

Also, please don't condemn it just because it is a resurrected horror subject. The Twilight Zone, Bates Motel or other series have done this, some like them, some don't. However, we need to give things a chance. I admit, sometimes things are better left alone. However, that is usually after we see the remake and judge for ourselves.

Also it was not even an anthology series.

M. Night Shyamalan has had some pictures that were entertaining.

The 6th Sense (awesome)
Signs (very interesting)
Unbreakable (which I love)
Devil
Split
The Visit....extremely creepy

I know he's not hip or fashionable these days because of his less than stellar offerings.....:ady in the Water, the Happening, The Last Airbender, and After Earth....

But dang, YMK....it's not as if he were a neanderthal unworthy of keeping the EC label in the public eye. Aside from the actual Cryptkeeper puppet and John Kassir's comedy....a lot of the HBO stuff was...well, kind of lame.

I agree with the original being "lame" at times. When I was a kid, I remember being terrified of Tales from the Crypt. Then recently I bought most of the seasons on DVD, and to be frank, I was a little disappointed. The crypt keeper was awesome, theme music, basement lair, and all that, and I really liked any episode that dealt with zombies (Till Death is by far the scariest episode) but much of their offerings were corny, poorly executed, and there were too many episodes where the supernatural was noticeably absent.

I was willing to give the new show a chance. Apparently, though, bringing it to fruition was a rights nightmare.
The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed...

I never said I was a giant fan of HBO either.
I like the comics. Also I'm aware you like Signs but I literally can't understand why people like it. That's not even an attack. I just can't understand why God killed a man's wife so he would know to use a baseball bat to kill an injured alien after all the other aliens had been killed by the substance that literally covers over 70% of our planet.

True, I haven't seen much of his earlier stuff. But that particular movie I don't understand.
I did like Sixth Sense.

I dunno if I got from Signs what you did. I think the point it was trying to make was, in a dying woman's final moments, she was able to "see" beyond the current situation and uttered warnings that people dismissed as gibberish. I take it you have been fortunate enough not to be around people when they are dying. They do tend to say some things that make no sense to anyone else in attendance. This was probably MKS's way of making sense of that. Most likely because he lost someone and experienced this firsthand.

This episode called The New Arrival was pretty creepy. Here it is on You tube. This one will definitely stick in your memory.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Haunted hearse

I was annoyed they kept using the HBO puppet to promote the show, while making it clear he would not be in the reboot.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

I know this has been cancelled, but I found this trailer. I wish this was still going forward.
