I havent seen a new issue on stands in quite awhile.

Their website says #24 just came out this month. I don't imagine they have any distribution. You probably have to buy from their site.

I can't stand the name Freaky Monsters. It sounds like someone (RF) just pulled the name out of his arse. I wouldn't buy it just for that reason alone. Glad it's dead.

'Welcome, Hugo.

When he lost the REAL "FM," he first said his new mag would be called SHOCK THEATER CLASSICS; that would have been an adult choice. To change to another "FM" was just about as childish a move as one could make.

I almost want to throw out my Ray Ferry Famous Monsters issues.     now that I know what a charlatan he is and how he cheated on those FM covers.

But I am definitely keeping the Binders, there is none of his text or opinion on those.

I've heard that Ray Ferry had substantial experience in computer graphics and was quite good in that area anyway.

I'll admit to owning a few Ferry publications, but I hate the name too. I was often misunderstood for liking monsters & imagi-movies as a kid, & the "Freaky" handle doesn't promote our magical obsession in the slightest.

He is the only real freak.   in fact, Ray Ferry put the "freak" in Freaky Monsters.

although I must confess, back in the 80's, there was a show called Freaky Films.      Kind of like Creature Features, Freaky Films opened with a cool montage of monsters I was unfamiliar with.      And the intro music was so scary for me.   I later found out the intro music was taken from the first Planet of the Apes movie.

Freaky Films was most excellent and I remember seeing The Gorgon for the first time.     also in that montage was the monster from Frankenstein vs. the Space Monster, which I found him to be quite frightening.

Never did see that movie.
