Topstone Tuesday is the bee's knees. Great photos.

Love the VXX stuff! Too bad he's not making masks anymore.  :(

What a great old thread. 'Happy to see all its images are intact after ten years.

Topstone masks count among the earliest I've ever owned. Every Halloween season,
our local dime store wheeled out huge bins filled with them. From there, I scored
my first one.

It was way oversized for me and hung on my head like a clump of soggy seaweed.

I didn't even know it was called "Shock Monster" so made up my own name for it >

Thinly cast as it was, the mask couldn't have survived long into the 1970s.
Whatever became of it? 'Same goes for my "Gorilla". My aunt had sewn up a
shaggy costume for me to wear with the mask. The only pics I have of it
are transfers from 8mm home movie film >

If my collection ever hosted any other Topstone masks way back then, I've long
since forgotten. Who could've predicted that they would one day become iconic,
coveted, and even replicated within the collecting community?

Amazing collection of iconic masks!  :)

TOTS Chamber of Horrors Mummy Mask after the iconic Topstone Mummy Mask:

Very cool mask! It has a transparent plastic piece which fits over the inside of the face to hold the shape for display. Pretty cheap price for a mask of this quality.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Doh!

I have no original Topstones, but did purchase a Death Studios Shock Monster a few years ago. Quality work!

That Chamber Of Horrors Mummy mask looks great.  If it were made in vinyl I'd buy it.  I've gotten too many rubber masks that just rot away too quickly.

Sir Masksalot

Currently there are two characters widely regarded as
the rarest Topstone horrors. No original molds are known
to exist and neither were among the urethane masters
unearthed at the former Topstone facility twenty-plus
years ago. I have no memory of ever owning a CYCLOPS
mask but have seen a couple in other collections >

An outfit called "Sicco's Horror Masks" now offers outstanding
replicas of the Topstone Cyclops.

We think UMA moderator Ray Castile is the only collector
in possession of an original HORRIBLE MELTING MAN  >

I had custody of his for a brief while and thought to
pair it with my custom T-shirt for a portrait >

Until another original comes available, I'm quite content with
the VXXFX replica which oozed into my collection in 2008 >

Doh!

Truth be told, that VXXFX is the superior product!
