Was wondering in everyones opinion, which is the best looking Chaney wolf for a decent price?  I mean like $30.00 and under.  Would it be the one in the yellow-green packaging that says "universal monsters" at the top?  Been looking on feebay and their are sooooo many!  Not sure which to get?  I am needing him to be displayed next to my Chaney Wolfman lifesize bust.

Thanks!

Both the sideshow 8" figure, and the 12" figure are excellent, IMHO, and both can be had for under $30.

Somewhere I have a loose complete 8" wolfman, and I think somewhere in the back of my stash closet I might have an unopened 12" sideshow wolfman, but I think both are also plentiful on ebay.

If you happen to have an 8 inch Sideshow Dracula back there you want to sell, PM me!     :)

Nope, never picked up the 8" drac at all. By then I was into the 12" figures. I might have a 12" exrta drac stashed away.. I think I got the color and silverscreen one, and never opened the silverscreen version.

I really need to clean out that closet, but on ebay it's a buyer's market right now, and in some cases, you can't even get your purchase price from your stuff.

I'm with Gareee. The Sideshow 8" and 12" figures are hard to beat for that price range.

I have always considered the horizon Wolfman model to be the best likeness on the market moreso than the Sideshow version. Have a look on ebay and you will see what I mean, let me know if you agree.

I've just found one on ebay for $35  if you are interested it's     Item number: 110324665198, all the best and good luck.

I think the Sideshow 12" Wolf Man is one of the worst of the series.  I prefer the Hasbro 12" Wolfy.  It is the only one of the Hasbro dolls that I prefer to its Sideshow counterpart.  Now, the Sideshow 8" Wolf Man is a different story.  He's totally fine.

Yeah, I have to agree with Ray...I've had opportunities in the past to purchase the Sideshow large Wolf Man figure, but i always end up changing my mind at the last minute. Don't know what it is, but i'm just not as attracted to this one as much as the others. I think a lot has to do with the hair being part of the sculpt. I know it would have cost a lot more, but it would have been MUCH more desirable had they somehow made the hair more realistic.

Gareee

Just looked at mine again, and once he's posed in a crouch on his log, faced off against the frankestein monster, I think he just looks near perfect.

Only thing that would have been nicer, would have been tighter knee joints, and a better range of articulation on his head/neck, for a slightly deeper crouch.

If anything, I think his paint ops should have been lighter in tone.. he's just too dark compared with how light he looks in black n white...

I think the Sideshow Wolfman edges out the Hasbro version, but, like the Karloff Mummy, only slightly.  The Sideshow version has a better looking head and I like the feet better but he is to skinny.  The Hasbro version has more bulk to him.

GAKENSTEIN

The Horizon Wolfman, while a cool-looking lycanthrope, doesn't resemble Chaney in the least.

It's a toss up. I feel the Hasbro Wolf Man looks as if he's had one too many cheese burgers while the Sideshow figure is anorexic looking.

When you take into consideration that Lon Jr. also liked his cheese burgers (with beers), I would have to say that the Hasbro figure is probably more "life like".   ;D

I agree, probably transplanting the Sideshow head/hands/feet (all of which I like better) to the Hasbro body (which is better) and you'll get a pretty decent looking figure.  The 1st 12" Sideshow Frank also looks way to skinny.

Gareee

The hasbro one though has FAR less articulation. I just added some cotton wads to the 1st frank to beef him up some.

Wolfman though I've always been very pleased with.
