Monsters For Sale

I hate that Disney buys up a property like a classic fairytale or The Muppets and makes all the little changes that Disneyfy it to their own vision.  But say what you will about them, they do promote the heck out of whatever they do own.

Here is the permanent attraction they plan for the Lucasfilms property that they acquired in 2012:

Sometimes I kinda wish that Universal would sell out to Disney.  Think the Rat Factory would let its classic monsters lie dormant?  Bet they would at least feature them prominently every Halloween.  (Just as long as they don't give them big eyes and 4 fingers.)

Oh, great, another reason to avoid Disneyland. Though, I'm a little conflicted over turning our Uni monsters over to Disney. Yes, it would be nice if they were treated with some dignity. I just don't want to see them turned into some over-merchandised tourist attraction like "Star Wars".

And Universal will be doing what with our beloved monsters?

Doing what they always do, suing anybody who wants to do anything with them, while doing nothing with them. Hotel Transylvania did well enough for a sequel, using mainly monsters made famous by Universal. There is no reason for Universal to stupidly squander what are some of the most popular and iconic media figures,
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?
