Along with the Naschy werewolf films, the Blind Dead are some of the best Eurohorrors ever! :)

Exquisite German poster for The Ghost Galleon (1974).

Which was used for the Blue Underground DVD cover.

And, here is the French poster.

The Ghost Galleon (aka Horror Of The Zombies) get's a bad rap from some because of the cheap special effects at the end with the burning ship. Amando de Ossorio was working on a very tight budget and was extremely limited concerning special effects. I think he did an excellent job, and GG remains one of my favorite horror movies. Besides, it reminds me of my favorite childhood toy, the MPC Haunted Hulk.  :)

(THE GORGON photo reminds me of the hilarious antic Hubby pulled on his sister - he signed her name to that photo, in an autograph style - "000 XXX, ___" and put it on the mantle before she visited.  She laughed and howled and kicked up the appropriate fuss.  But she got him back.  She had some friends visit her widdle brother a few years later with signed adoption papers - she'd put him up for adoption.  At Age 40.  He is mostly angered: "I'll never be able to outdo THAT antic!"  There is no telling which of them started these, either.)

Memph, these are terrific... what imagination!

MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND (1969) - we've all heard of Leatherface, who didn't appear for a few more years, but here's his older brother, EggsOverEasyFace.  And Arms.

BEAST OF BLOOD (1970)
"Well, I've got some really beat up old wigs that were stored in the hurricane and blizzards - we could put that on and attach all kinds of other things.  Hand me that tacklebox..."

BRIDES OF BLOOD (1968) and BLOOD THIRTY (1971) actually were father-and-son relations.  Both of them were apparently created in the image of a very old, very used chianti bottle.  I hope the cafe never missed them.

BEYOND ATLANTIS (1973)... I'm pretty sure this is the original Derek & The Dominos video for TELL THE TRUTH, right?  "Who's Been Ooglin' You?"

Great post.  :)  I really enjoy the Philippino horror flicks. One of the coolest looking monsters ever is the Chlorophyll Monster (Beast Of Blood).

Check out Sam Sherman's commentary tracks on the four films in the Blood Island Vacation DVD box set covering the history of Hemisphere Pictures. It concludes on Brain Of Blood even though Brain... isn't a genuine Blood Island flick, Independent International just tried to make it look that way to capitalize on the then popularity of the BI trilogy. Sherman is very meticulous and entertaining, and those commentary tracks are big fun for horror film geeks like you and I. The commentaries are also included on the Alpha reissues of the original Image DVDs.

Double poster of two Tigon releases.

Blood On Satan's Claw is truly excellent. "Archaic" Al Hewetson of Skywald fame would say it has the "Horror Mood".

This double feature poster just oozes '60s horror movie ambiance.

That garish look was ubiquitous in popular monster culture in the 1960s on movie posters, comics, monster mags, toy packaging, and much more. I love it.
