I also thought this might have been an early casting-call for LORD OF THE RINGS, with Saruman's role still up for grabs because Christopher Lee hadn't whitened up his hair and beard enough.  Of course, this other actor didn't get the part, probably because he brought his shuffleboard cue with him.  Crutches?  Oh well... they can be both!

The Team Supreme, Cushing and Lee, elevate any production into the stratosphere. 

And, it's a good film without even taking their great acting prowess into consideration.
