Vintage Monster Charms

I've never seen a comprehensive list of all the various monster finger puppets.

Nor have I. Vending machine premiums are likely the least catalogued sub-genre of monster and toy collecting in general. It's a very confusing field for newbies.

Of course, there were more than monsters in their line.  There were also pirates, natives and dogs.



Some of the paint schemes have interesting variations.

here is a hot pink wolfman i have.
didn't realize they made so many in these neon colors.

The neon ones are wild cool!

although the rubber eraser type heads are by far the most common - i like them better than the plastic ones because of their detail.

i dont own any of the painted charms - but looking through this thread - there are definitely different molds being used - whether its in regards to size or detail i can find it most noticeable on franky.

Are any of the rubber ones painted, or is painting confined to some (or most?) of the hard plastic ones?

The rubber ones are supposed to be easers, so no paint on those.

Here is my Creature (large finger type puppet) in a weird orange-ish pink color. 

Here are my two Metalunas (small pencil toppers)



I believe the one that sold today is the Moleman as it does not look like either of these, but I could be wrong.

It is a Mole Man.

One of the coolest attributes of this "series" of vending machine charms/finger puppets is that both the Metaluna Mutant and Moleman are included.



If only Aurora had issued kits of the Metaluna Mutant and Moleman. Either would have been a much better choice than the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Or for that matter Marx figures of either of these would have been far more popular with young fellows than the Hunchback figure.

And imagine an SPP wallet featuring the Metaluna Mutant on one side and Moleman on the other. That would have been beyond cool!

they seem pretty darned scarce.
these are in fantastic condition too!

i wonder if they were painted by children
