Classic "End of the World" movies

Finished watching that show last night. Not bad.

Good use of locations! I wonder what the story was behind some of those devastated communities. The old, abandoned factory was obviously just that.

One thing I couldn't figure out, was why they had to go to the "Ark" to have their babies? Once there, they didn't seem to do anything special, or use any advanced medical equipment.

I think the deal was if they stayed where they were, their babies would be taken from them.  But, at the "Ark" conditions were supposed to be better and they could keep them.

That's about how bad the factory would look after 50 years of zero maintenance.  Just look at the pictures of Chernobyl.  It was hard to swallow that they believed that all that had happened after only a few weeks - and that it took so long for them to realize so much time had passed.

That was kinda muddy.  I think they were ruled by a loose group of war lord types.  No real representative/parliamentary formal government.  My feeling was that they hoped for more stability in the ark.
