Is the back the same as the front? I love the idea of using the Spanish/Mexican Dracula. I wish they would have done that with the figures. Could we possibly get a Glenn Strange Monster figure in the future? It looks like somebody at DST has been reading our posts.
Man.....A Glenn Strange Monster would be awesome.
We're all here because we're not all there.

Yeah, but it seems that the more we want something, the less likely we are to get it.

Are we still talking about this lunchbox? I really have zero interest in licensed Universal anything at this point.

I understand with "Hotel Transylvania", they had to be careful not to infringe on Universal's copyrighted Monster looks, which meant this Dracula couldn't have a widow's peak.  Never mind both Count Chocula and Count Von Count both have widow 's peaks.  It good to see Universal taking real pains to protect the likenesses of their characters, while refusing to create anything which would use their licensed characters.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

looks like the stunningly beautiful EMCE UM lunchbox and fun and interesting UM monsters and villagers "army men" are dead and buried, no word or new development and a long time has now come and gone. R.I.P. No mention at the latest toy conventions or from EMCE.
The other day I did buy two bags of their ALIENS vs. Space Marines "army men" and a glow egg with glow in the dark slime and ALIEN figure inside. I also saw the Aliens lunch boxes on the shelf at the local store. It made me sad. Can't help but think about what could have been, obviously all of those EMCE/studio licensed products actually got to stores, so the only hold up for the monster stuff could've been the Universal Brass itself. EMCE is certainly not to blame. I can't think of any valid or logical reason to withhold products (especially ones that generated that much interest) that could have made fans very happy and made money for the manufacturers, license holders, distributors and retailers.  Just stupid.

I wonder, are they stifling new licensed UM products based on the iconic films in the hopes that their new iterations in the supposedly forthcoming monster movie universe are somehow going to eclipse the originals and we would prefer to buy toys or collectibles  based on the new films instead? I sincerely hope not.

Toy Fair is this month. Let's chill out and see what EMCE has displayed. If we dont see the box and army guys: then worry. Right now I am still holding onto hope. :'( 8)

Good for you I suppose,
however you may be all alone in your enduring hope, I for one do not possess the 20 years+ Shawshank Redemption type of hope needed to still believe these items will ever hit the store shelves, let alone reside on mine someday. What a shame.

Anton is the most positive member of the UMA. Unfortunately, I will sadly accept Ravenloft's assessment of the EMCE situation. And, yes, it is 100% Universal's fault.

The Red Death 30

I hope Ravens theory is not true but it would seem likely. If Universal is going to relaunch these monsters it would seem probable to want to stifle licensing of the original versions

Its only been 4 months since EMCE said "Hang tight fellas". Then proceeded to tell us why we had to hold the phone. If there's nothing at Toy Fair---I will begin deflating. But I am trying to be optimistic that Universal won't (take the licensed product I was most looking forward to and) utterly destroy it. :-[

Every time this lunchbox comes up for discussion I get depressed. I will never get to have my Carlos Villarias lunchbox, no matter how much I yearn :(

It's especially weird since Bela Lugosi doesn't have a widows peak in Dracula. That's in Mark of the Vampire which was MGM.

I don't think it's a question of Universal protecting their property with this Lunchbox, as the Spanish version was a Universal feature too, after all.

I think it has more to do with Bela Jr, than anything else.

Bela does have a very very faint widow's peak in Dracula, depending on which toupee he was wearing. It is more pronounced in some stills than others
