Now you got me wanting a set of these!  :)
It's definitely worth picking up. Some of the choices were a little weird, but overall it's a cool set.

I would love to see a set of these with Classic Marx/MPC/Remco playsets as the theme.

Trading cards are so expensive to print nowadays they have to charge too much for 'em. I guess we're well past the time of new trading card popularity. At least they made so many a few years ago that there are a huge number of cool trading card sets that are very affordable now. Most card sets from the last 35 years are really good buys currently.

Yeah, the Slinky isn't much to look at, but I'm sure those are in the minority.

Got the Ken Kelly Series 1 & 2 chase cards I needed in the mail today. Here's a scan of both sets- the 3 Hologram Cards for Series 1, and the 5 Metallic Storm Cards for Series 2.

Hammer Horror Series 1 (Strictly Ink, 2008) is a sharp 72 card set. Absolutely beautiful cards. I received these today from 'cross the pond. Bloody good, mate.  8)

Hammer Horror Series 2 (Strictly Ink, 2010) is the followup set of 54 base cards. I don't think it's quite as nice as Series 1, but it is a very attractive card set (especially #49 with the luscious Collinson Twins!  Zombie In Luv).

I think those were the ones that I though were all-girl Hammer cards. They look stunning (the girls & the cards).

I like that "Early Science Fiction" sub set! Is that the whole thing? Looks like they covered everything from the '50s.

Yep they are pretty cool. I just wish there were more of them. The last Hammer set was produced in 2010 (posted above). I hope another Hammer card set comes along soon. I would love to see a whole set devoted to Hammer Glamour.

I'm contemplating posting that card #49 from Series 2 by itself. It would be huge! I wonder if that would constitute the dreaded envelope pushing:-\  ;D

Yeah, that's the whole subset. These look so good it makes me want more. Maybe Strictly Ink will do another set with more cards next time.

If you want these it may be a good time to get them. I bought both sets off eBay for less than 30 bucks shipped. These things are harder to get than most card sets from the last few years. They may not be so accessible in 2 or 3 years.

I bought mine from this guy. He has both sets and shipped both for the cost of shipping Series 1. They got here pretty fast, too...and unharmed. These are highly recommended.

Fear of envelope pushing be damned! Here they are in all their glory.  8)

I was joking about that "envelope pushing", of course. One of the mods gave a sorta/kinda warning about that a long time ago and it's been a source for some fun. But...hey, it is pretty hot for a trading card.  ;D

Also, by cropping down to such a small scanned item and then essentially magnifying it as a large image you can see how sharp these cards really are. It still has a fairly detailed image even blown up like that. These really are beautiful, as Mord says, "the girls and the cards".  ;)

Got these today. These are the five Metallic Storm chase cards for the Sanjulian set I posted earlier.

Some unopened packs from my collection. No wonder we couldn't resist these things as kids. These wrappers are so gorgeous.

The scariest thing might be thinking about chewing the petrified granite-like stick of gum lurking within.  ;D
