Great art card sets! Never saw them, before.
Yeah, back in the '90s I used to buy a lot of trading card sets and boxes. They were cheap back then, and most of the cards from then are still very affordable on eBay. I have a few more art sets to post along with some other more purely monstery ones. The way I'm ordering new cards I'll have posting material for awhile. I guess this thread kind of rekindled my interest in them.  :)

Those are freakin' cool, dude! I was unaware of them. I checked eBay after I saw your post and sets of them are pretty affordable. I'll probably pick up a set later on and I may post the whole thing. Really cool Baby Boomer Toys with lotsa monsters sprinkled throughout. That Creature card is beautiful.  8)

I've found that too! Getting stuff out to photograph and scan is a great reminder of just how much cool stuff I have in my collections.  That's particularly so for my comics and magazines which are hidden away within my filing cabinets and my trading cards which are all in sheets and binders.

Some really great deals on eBay now for cards from the '90s-present. I just picked up the chase cards I needed to complete my Frazetta 2 set for like 3-5 bucks each with free shipping. Back when those cards first came out the chase cards sold for more like 10 bucks each. Figure in inflation and some of this stuff is mega cheap now. Furthermore I'm discovering sets I didn't even know about, like that Classic Toys set Mike mentioned. I haven't been this excited about trading cards in years. Got a bunch coming in the mail with more to order.

Wal-Mart has a good deal on Ultra-Pro 9 Pocket Sheets to store them in- 35 sheets for 5 bucks (acid-free, no PVC). I stocked up on some today.

One nice thing about card collecting . . they don't take up that much space!  :)

There is that, and...they don't degrade as easily as the newsprint most of our most cherished comics and monster mags are printed on. Slabbing doesn't even hurt the functionality of a card since there's only two sides. I only have one slabbed card in my collection- the Horror Monsters Green Incredible Shrinking Man card. I only have that one because I needed it and it only cost me 10 bucks, the same as a nice loose one. I don't have any slabbed comics/mags though. I like to read them too much.

I just bought a set of those Classic Toys cards off evilBay for 15 bucks shipped. Cardmania has gripped me!  ;D

That didn't show up on my eBay search or I would have probably grabbed it. Of course sometimes they pump up the shipping charges to make up for selling something cheap (and SH charges on full boxes can be high anyway).

I did see someone selling SINGLE CARDS for 2 bucks each...uh, that don't compute. That would be painful even if you only needed one card to complete the set.

Just went back and checked and yeah, I overlooked those because the seller's photo is just of some cards instead of the box. I skimmed over the search results too quickly. Wow, a sealed box for $13.95 + $7.50 SH is a really good deal. The box has 36 packs of 7 cards each so you should get at least 2 full sets with a possible 3. You would almost certainly get 1 full set unless the collation is REALLY wonkie. I should have paid more attention. Oh well, at least I'll have a set.  :)

Dinosaurs Attack! (Topps, 1988) is an homage to prehistoric monster movies like The Giant Behemoth. It is a 55 card, 11 sticker set in the vein of Topps own Mars Attacks set from 1962, and it's cheezy good fun...and pretty damn gory ta boot!  :o :D

I have the Dinosaurs Attack! set. Just as good as Mars Attacks!, but doesn't have it's vintage credentials.

It is a fun set with all of it's over the top violence and gore. These things are dirt cheap on the 'Bay. They must have printed a dinosaur-crapload of them back in '88. Any monster or dino fan should grab a set. Big fun for little moolah.  :)
