Blood on Satan's Claw PAL dvd...there was a discussion about it somewhere here, and I suddenly really wanted to see it.

The still images might have had something to do with it...
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

Ready to witness my annual horror DVD splurge? It's pretty sick this this year:

Amicus Collection: Asylum/The Beast Must Die/And Now the Screaming Starts
The House that Dripped Blood
Torture Garden
Tower of London (Rathbone/Karloff version)
The Mole People
Day of the Triffids
Curse of the Demon
Burn, Witch, Burn
Incubus
Vamps (2012)
Exorcism of Emily Rose

I need help. Seriously. Think I'm going to have to sell my body to pay the light bill.
Recent Horrors (out of 5 *'s):

The Witch - **1/2
Alien - *****
The Invisible Man - *****

I agree. I'm rebuilding my collection as well as expanding, so it seems that every week a new package arrives at my door. The last bunch included:

Planet of the Apes Legacy Collection (Blu-ray)
Captain Kronos- Vampire Hunter
Fright Night
Universal Horror: Classic Movie Archive
Hammer Horror Series
Curse of Frankenstein/Taste the Blood of Dracula
Icons of Horror Collection: Hammer Films
Movies 4 you: Sci-Fi Classics
The Return of the Vampire

I also picked up a copy of the book Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13

I'm already planning my next order!!

Was at the store earlier and bumped into "House of Dark Shadows" and "Night of Dark Shadows" on blue-ray.  On sale for $9.99 each---I'm pretty stoked.

My generous brother surprised me with that Universal 30 movie DVD set. I'm very pleased with every aspect of it (movie selection, print quality, box art etc.). It would make a great gift for anyone who needs some or most of these films.

Man, your bro is crazy generous! Does the set come with a book? The coffin blue-ray set comes with booklet and postcards. I already have these films in dvd and or blue-ray, so I'm wondering if the 30 film set comes with any interesting collectible extras?

It comes with the same 48 page book as the B-R set. The best thing about this is that it has the best available versions of each of the 31 movies in one, fairly compact set. Another plus is that all the sequels are free of the many flaws the legacy collections had. The individual packages have beautiful box art as well.

Watched "The Lodger" the other night, so that inspired me to order "Hands of the Ripper" blue-ray/DVD combo. That put me in a Hammer mood, so I also ordered "Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell" and "Twins of Evil" on dvd. My Hammer collection is getting close to completion.

Did the DVD18 Legacy sets come in any kind of super set, or big box set? The only thing besides the 6 individual monster sets that I recall is the set with the 3 Sideshow busts.

My brother spends his entire life looking for the most exclusive & elusive boxed sets from any country and he says "No". Trust me, if it's a boxed set, he either has it or knows about it.

Alright! Thanks, Mord's brother!  :)  I didn't think I'd ever seen one. I remember some foreign Legacy sets that were different, somehow, than the R1 sets. Pretty much the same box art. I can probably find those on amazon.uk, if I really wanna know.

I think the Blu-Rays are the only UM box sets that aren't just all the individual movie packages thrown into one big cardboard box.

The Hammer stuff is gotta have. I'm really glad Synapse came through on those combo packs for Vampire Circus, Twins Of Evil, and Hands Of The Ripper.

I have all of the Hammer monster/horror/sci-fi oriented titles on DVD/BD except for three of the Bette Davis flicks. I'll eventually get those but the DVD releases available for those are kinda pricey for what you get. I also have the DVD Icons Of Adventure and Icons Of Suspense Hammer sets. I rank Hammer the near equal of Universal in terms of importance in monster movie history, and I think Hammer flicks are on average more entertaining than Universal's. That's really saying something since I revere Universal so highly. The main Hammer films are essential for a good monster movie library.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...
