Oh, it's the Millcreek reissues of the BK Columbia horrors. I have the Columbia label DVDs.

It was issued through Criterion.  I'm planning on ordering it!  I wish I had space for the prints they did.

I think you're referring to "Monsters and Madmen". I was talking about this one.

We've been frequently pleased with the Millcreek cheapo sets of PD films - "50 Noirs" and "100 Mysteries" - sets like that.  They seem to have access to multiple PD prints and, while they aren't doing remastered (apparently), they seem to select the best-version available and putting those into the collections.

This deal they have with Columbia, reissuing their old DVD releases, means they'll be using the same masters. Only problem might be with compression. These Karloff titles were released 1, or 2 per disc on Columbia and now 3 per disc on MC.

Yes, exactly, and those will show up on older players whose ROM 'interpreter tables' were encoded to support original algorithms, and could not possibly exact best-play abilities from newest ones.

The newest algorithms supposedly solve all of these issues.  In our oh-so-perfect world.

Of course, the proffered solution remains, "Just buy new equipment, then our new stuff works great!"

Whoops!  I didn't even see that.   :-[

That's a much better collection of films than Universal's Karloff collection. I have the original Columbia versions, but I might still buy this one.

In my opinion, the directors cut of "Nightbreed" is much better than the theatrical version. It's a bit long, running at just over 2 hours but the extra scenes fill in the holes much nicer.

What can you say about a flick like this? I was expecting a low budget, settle for any talent that's willing to do this, type of a movie. Well I'm here to say it was very well put together. From the acting, to the lighting, camera work, everything, I like this movie, some parts made me feel a bit uncomfortable but that's what its meant to do. If it didn't then there is something seriously wrong with you.  It's about snuff, and whether or not you believe it's out there. Also, this is a warning, it's not for kids.

I had to pick this up, just for the memories alone. I know my niece will get a kick out of it too.

This is film has become- Infamous. Not only is A Serbian Film f*****-up,
the film is disgusting beyond belief. Not that I am here to judge what
one watches in their privacy. But just a friendly warning when watching
A Serbian Film. Cannibal Holocaust has now become a Disney film compared to A Serbian Film.

I didn't find it all that disturbing; When there are "real monsters" in the world, a movie cannot begin to show anything that hasn't actually been done by some depraved human being at some point.  Just found it "shocking" for the sake of being so.

Real monsters in this real world, I totally agree. The parts that bothered me most was what he was made to do to his own son (trying not to be graphic and don't want to spoil movie for others that wish to see it). Also, his surprising brother lol. Let's not forget "new born porn". But getting back to real monsters, I guess I wish we all lived in a world where the worst only plays out on the screen. I hope I haven't offended anyone with the post of "A Serbian Film" and if I have, I apologize.

This Scream Factory edition of "Army of Darkness" comes with 3 versions of the film, theatrical, international and directors cut, all on 3 blu-ray disks. Not to mention a boat load of special features. If your a fan of the "Evil Dead Trilogy" then this is a must have. One more thing, there was a problem with one of the disks, can't remember what, but if you want to make sure you get the corrected copy, do what I did and order it directly from Scream Factory.

I gave up on this movie after I bought the Screwhead edition on Blu-ray. This movie has been re-released so many times on DVD that I finally stopped buying them. I have 3 or 4 different releases of this movie. I'd have to check. :P Nice cover art on this new one.
