Wow. It doesn't get much rarer (or better) than that. It doesn't look like he's going to get his asking price, however. I assume he guarantees that the sealed box does indeed contained all four monsters and a victim and not some plastic fruit. Right?

jollygorilla

this is what the victim looked like in the mail order set ( according to plaidstailions website )

IC4CHAMBERS paid $5100 for his boxed mail away Lincoln set with Victim a year ago:

Of course he's no longer in the market for one either so who is it that the seller expects to pay $8750?

???
Collecting! It's what I do!

I'm told that these two sets have now been split up. Someone I know bought the shrink-wrapped set. The seller still has the boxed set with the victim.

I would love to have that set! I know someone personally who got a set and paid $5000 for it.

may want to check on that ray....this auction has been relisted with both sets again.......

Haunted hearse

Relisted with BIN for $10,000, and no victim.  Good luck on getting his price.

In the auction, the sealed box is said to contain the victim.

I just bought an old Caddy with 50,000 miles on it for $2600. At least I can drive it.

I understand why collectors love these toys. That being said, how many Lincoln collectors have deep enough pockets to be interested in such a high price tag? You could put together a loose set of the monsters for well south of $10K, so essentially you'd be paying a huge markup for a plain cardboard box and the victim figure. I'm glad my toy collecting has veered into more affordable items these days ;)

John Pertwee

Once people found out that guys like Kirk Hammett are out there, they pump up the price thinking that just because he has money he will pay anything. Kirk may be rich, but he looks for a good deal just like you or me. He even has a go between to keep from paying the celebrity tax.

***As Kirk explained, celebs pay more since it is well known that they have money. A $100 toy can quickly become $500 if they know Kirk needs it for his collection.***

Ok, I guess there's something I'm missing here, but why would anyone really want the so-called "victim"? It's just a generic dime store girlie doll. It was probably just thrown in with the monsters arbitrarily.

jollygorilla

It has to be her fancy jumpsuit that makes em go wild.

Haunted hearse

If the box is sealed, you have to believe that doll is in there.
