Horrors Of Spider Island (1960) (aka Body In The Web, aka It's Hot In Paradise)

BTW, nice gif!

Another BTW, I believe the Horror Host for Web Of Horror magazine, Webster, is based on this little critter.  ;)

That's correct, and it would seem that the character in the comic is directly taken from the spider seen in this film. Good call!  ;)

Your turn!

Yeah, it seems like the creator of Webster's look (probably Wrightson) was directly inspired by the adorable little spider monster from Horrors Of Spider Island. Some artistic license was employed by making the head and eyes larger and more cartoonish, and drawing fewer legs (practicality), but it's likely the creator saw the film a few years earlier and was inspired either consciously or unconsciously by the cool look of the monster.

Here's a small hint:

This movie was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel (pre Sy-Fy, when it was worth watching  ;)) in heavily cut form back around 2003/2004. I taped it off there and burned it to disc before finally picking up the factory DVD. It's a fun flick.

Another little hint:

This film is the 3rd in what became a series involving the same insane (in a cool way  8)) character. By the time this sequel rolled around the actor looked quite a bit older. The first film is considered a modern horror classic. The two sequels are simply big fun.

So as to not allow staleness, here's yet another hint. The lime green color of those question marks was a hidden hint from the start. They match the color of a certain serum used in the films which was a very important plot element.  ;)

OK--Ive never seen any of the films: but I know the hint. Its in the Re-Animator series isn't it? I'm gonna guess Bride of Re-animator since there's a chick in it. Right or wrong? totally guessing here.

Well, that's wrong, but by process of elimination that doesn't leave very much. In fact, you could check a nearby thread and have the answer handed to you.

And, I won't belabor my total amazement that a Horror fan has never seen any of the Re-Animator films. The first one is considered a Modern Classic. But, like I said, not belaboring over here.
