The first time I saw this record was in the Captain Company ads in the back of Famous Monsters Of Filmland.
I haven't owned a copy until much more recently, though, and I'm glad I finally got one because it's a very cool
album.

The music on it is not directly from the movie soundtracks but played faithfully by dick Jacobs and his orchestra.
Each musical track has an introduction by Bob McFadden doing impersonations of horror movie actors such as
Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi , Peter Lorre and others accompanied by sound effects. Bob McFadden, you may know,
did the voice of Franken Berry for the General Mills cereal commercials. He also did voices on the Milton The Monster cartoons, Fearless Fly, and lots of the Rankin and Bass animated films, and much more.

There was a re-issue of this album in 1978 that eliminated the kitschy vocal intro's. You can find both versions for sale digitally. I prefer the original with Bob McFaddens intro's.

Creature From the Black Lagoon fans take note- all three Creature films are represented on this record.

This record from 1959 is an early example of horror movie theme music in stereo from a time when the only other way to hear these themes was to go to the theater and watch the movie.

Here is the front of the album.

And here's the back.

Holy Moley, had that record when I was a kid but don't remember what happened to it.After what,54 years who knows. That wierd 3 eyed thingy on the back always spooked me out as a kid. Congrats Monolith.

Yes, thanks. Both the jacket and the record are in great shape. I've listened to it a couple of times and it sounds great.

Thanks. Yes, that three eyed thing kind of reminds me of the Purple People Eater, or something.
