My dad is a big John Wayne fan, so I got to see a lot of his westerns growing up.  Because of this, I have watched and enjoyed western movies and TV shows.

The Shootist
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Silverado
Rio Bravo
True Grit
Rooster Cogburn
The Cheyenne Social Club
Hannie Cauder
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Young Guns I & II

I enjoyed"Hannie Caulder" quite a lot (my gods, Raquel Welch was gorgeous) but the ending scene (possible spoilers) with the "Preacher" always kind of annoyed me. Outside of that it's a fun movie.

To be honest, the reason I watched the movie was because of Raquel Welch, but I did enjoy the movie.

Zombie In Luv
I'm not really a fan of westerns, but she could change my mind.

Phantom Stranger

If nobody minds, i'd like to recommend , what I think is a truly great western:

"Hour Of The Gun" (1967)
-James Garner, Jason Robards

While basically a sequel to "Gunfight At The O.K. Corral",
this film stands by itself as a well made action western.  Anybody who only knows Garner through"Maverick" or "The Rockford Files" will be surprised to to see how he plays a major tough guy, in fact i'd say he was one bad mother fu (shut your mouth! ). All kidding aside, this is a terrific, action packed film. Jason Robards does a superb job playing Doc Holiday and the story and direction are first rate. If you've never seen this film, or it's been a while since you saw it, give yourself a treat and watch it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
