...but here are some pics of the pressbooks.

Pressbooks! Interesting.

Despite the name were these distributed primarily to theatres to advertise the coming films? Is there a well-defined market in these with a price guide and dealers who specialize in them? Are they cheap compared to movie posters and lobby cards?

Yup, pressbooks were distributed to theater owners and they contain press articles that could be placed in local papers, newspaper ads and ideas for promoting the film. I don't believe there is a price guide for pressbooks Hep. They can range in price but can usually be had for low proces, especially compared to one sheets and lobbies. I have a bunch of them and I don't think I paid over 20 bucks for any of them, but that was over 10 years ago.
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

My oldest monster related "toys" are the Frankenstein kit that Aurora issued in 1961 and the Dracula and Wolf Man kits that Aurora then issued in 1962.  Here are the photos:

The oldest monster-related item I own is an original Universal Pictures advance promo packet for the 1931 Frankenstein film. I suspect this was something sent to the theater manager in advance to entice bookings. It’s about 4” by 5.5” in size and the cover is soft reddish flocked material embossed boldly with the title “Frankenstein” and “A Universal Picture Presented by Carl Laemmle” printed at the bottom. It contains a set of twelve black & white stills in a 4” by 5” size (reduced size lobby cards, I suppose).  It promotes the production, cast, Whale and Laemmle within.  It was found in a box of items stashed away from a 1930s closed movie theatre and was gifted to me for volunteer help on a renovation a couple years ago.  Not a toy but the original post didn’t specify toy. It’s historically monster related and definitely vintage (1931).

Hell of a gift.

You gotta wonder how many tons of such material were crushed beneath the many grand theatres that fell to the wrecking ball over the years.

My stuff is minty fresh compared to a lot of stuff here! My oldest is 1975's Jaws soundtrack, followed closely by my 1976 Don Post Skull mask. Both are vinyl, as luck would have it...

I recently posted this in the Weekly Finds thread, but my oldest piece in my collection is also my newest: A 1963 Jaymar Mummy Puzzle. I love it!
