Since it's Halloween, we thought we'd share some treats (no tricks!) from the current auction. We've got a wide array of horror and horror-related lots this time, so we'll most likely have a couple posts over the next few days.

First up is a stunning vintage photo postcard signed by Doctor Frankenstein himself, actor Colin Clive!

Another Frankenstein alum autograph being offered in the current Hake's Americana & Collectibles auction is that of Una O'Connor. Who didn't love her performances as Jenny Hall in 1933's The Invisible Man and as Minnie in 1935's Bride of Frankenstein? James Whale certainly had an eye for character actors/actresses, didn't he?

Great picture of Una! One part of hers I always remember, though it was very short, was as the tobacconist in "Random Harvest". Typical Una!  :)

The current Hake's Americana & Collectibles auction features a bevy of original comic art, including this stunning splash page by Gene Colan for The Tomb of Dracula #1, published by Marvel in October, 1979. Art is for inside front cover illustration featuring Dracula standing in foggy graveyard and was inked by Bob McLeod. As the Count himself says, "There are far worse things awaiting man than death," like missing out on this art!

Quote from: Mike Scott on July 13, 2016, 05:10:51 PMWow! How much is that per card? ;D

Well we know that there are 24 packs. And I know that packs of cards in Canada at the time had four cards plus gum but I believe that packs sold in the States had more cards. Perhaps five or six? Does anyone remember buying these Leaf Munsters cards in the States?

Let's assume five cards per pack. At $2100 that would work out to $17.50 per card, but with 24 stickers, 24 slabs of delicious gum, 24 wrappers and one display box thrown in for nothing. In reality the display box would be worth at least as much as the 24 wrappers and each wrapper would fetch as much as a dozen cards or so.

;)
Collecting! It's what I do!
