What's your favorite 1950's flying saucer/invasion sci-fi films?

Mine would be:

Earth vs The Flying Saucers (1956)

War of the Worlds (1953)

Battle in Outer Space (1959)

I reviewed all three at my blog, for more info click here:

I love 'The Earth vs The Flying Saucers' .. I remember as a little girl sneaking downstairs to watch the Late Show and the 'live' announcer kept telling people that it was only a movie.

I also like    .. 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'

'Killers from Space'
'Target Earth'

and others that I can't think of at the moment
"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats" ...  Albert Schweitzer

McDougals House of Horror

Invaders From Mars

"Gee whiz!"

A "gee whiz" for me -- yours truly with Jimmy Hunt

Scary as hell for a kid -- hey Dad, what happened to your neck?...

And the terrifying sand pit with its haunting choral theme...

"Do you know what I've got in those crates?"

Hey, it's round! Yeah, we finally got one, we found a flying saucer...

That thing is alive, I saw it!...

"I send you a warning -- watch the skies! Keep watching!"...

How's Killers From Space? I'm not recalling that one. I own the others, Target Earth is a fave of mine. I reviewed that in a 'Robots' post last year :)

If "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" had come out in the '50s, it would be high on my list.

I agree , it's amazing how that film captured the feel of the earlier movies , it was great fun!

The Big Top Spaceship looks like a big top tent

The big top was the flying saucer and it buried itself under the ground like Invaders from Mars , it actually looked like a big toy top when it takes off.

It's been many years since I've seen it .. recall it as being fun and cheesy starring Peter Graves .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killers_from_Space
