Got my Fiends #4 in the mail today from Tim Tyler. Love me some Rat House Comics!

I recommend Fiends monster mag highly, especially issue 3 to any fan of classic Spanish Horror (it features a story called "Heart Of The Howling Beast" which pits Paul Naschy's Werewolf Waldemar Daninsky against Ossorio's Blind Dead and a Lovecraftian Big Bad).

Picked up this copy of Rockets Blast Comic Collector #86 mainly for the Wrightson cover (though the ads circa 1970 are pretty cool). Here's the evilBay pic:

I love the old fanzines, especially the ones with Wrightson art. Most of them from the '60s/'70s are way undervalued in today's marketplace. With the relatively small print runs of vintage fanzines the prices may blow up someday when enough collectors realize how cool they really are. Right now the marketplace is dizzy from TV/movieitis, keyitis, and high-gradeitis, but things have a way of coming back around...it just takes awhile. Meantime I'll take advantage of the cheap fanzine prices. This RBCC is mid-grade and it was only 8 bucks.

Rats! I was thinking of selling my RBCCs and a few other fantasy fanzines, but if they aren't worth much . . .?

Most '60s/'70s fanzines seem to sell for $10-$20 each depending on condition and who did the cover and interior artwork. Some that are highly sought after sell for much more, like Spa Fon, early Witzend, early Squa Tront, and oddball scarce stuff like Scream Door #1. Some of those sell for $50-$100, or maybe up to $200 in some cases. When I mentioned that they are undervalued currently I was comparing them to key comics from the same time period with way higher print runs. The crazy demand is there for the comics mainly because of the movies and TV shows from the last few years. Most collectors these days know little or nothing about the fanzines.

I have several of the early Squa Tront issues and an odd issue or two of stuff like REH Lone Star Fictioneer and some I cant remember the titles of. RBCC is mainly the last 30 issues or so. I remember the Star Wars issues used to sell for a lot, but don't know if it still does.

You can get a good price for the early Squa Tronts. I'm not sure about the later RBCCs, I only have a couple of RBCC issues with Wrightson covers. I don't know of any up-to-date price guides for fanzines but if I were selling them I would just check eBay for prices, and the faster they need to move the lower the prices would be.

Might be a good idea to hold onto them until the market see's more people collecting them and better prices, unless you need to move them quick. These days most collectors are hyped up for early appearances of popular characters from recent movies and TV shows, especially Marvel. Also, most collectors are worked up over high grade books. I believe the fanzine segment of the marketplace will eventually pick up, but it could take awhile. Now's a good time to buy them, not so much to sell them.

That's nice! I hate to get rid of some of these things, But I need the room and I don't collect these kinds of mags anymore. Time to let someone else enjoy them!

These are all in the VF to NM range. I'll have to check out eBay for RBCC prices.

Squa Tront isn't doing well, at all! 1 and 2 get a nice price, but the others I have are under $10. I guess I'll keep them a while longer.

Finished my run of Rampaging Hulk/Hulk! with the purchase of this #10.

I've been looking for a copy for awhile but sellers wanted to get $15-$20 out of mid-grade copies (after factoring in SH) and that's just too much. Snagged this one (FN) for $5 plus combined SH. Most of my run is high grade but upgrading this one is very low priority. The main thing is just finishing the run before the years slip by and prices creep ever upward.

The latest issue of The Creeps is #17. The cover was previously used for Castle Of Frankenstein #18 (1972).

I don't mind the repeat at all. I love Ken Kelly's work, and that cover shows Ken's style at an early point in his career. Still awesome.

Fantastic cover. I had the pleasure in 2014 in meeting Mr. Kelly at a KISS function/meet-n-greet. Ken Kelly is an amazing artist and very gracious.
At his booth, he brought-along many of his lithos and original artwork, spanning many decades. From albums covers to Monster magazines.
