Sharing YouTube vids broken

Your attention, please. The simple sharing of YouTube videos at the UMA appears to not be so simple anymore. You used to be able to just  copy and paste the link and the video would show. Not anymore. The plug-in that we've been using here appears to have gone on the blink. This appears to be exclusive to YouTube only as I've still been able to share Daily Motion videos with just a link. But who the hell uses Daily Motion?  ;D

In the meantime, all you have to do is remove the the letter "s" from the https part of the link. Then it should work.

I will be working on getting this damn thing-a-ma-jig fixed.

I don't see any "s" after the http in any of the urls. This link was pasted in the usual way.

Weird. Then somewhere along the way something changed at my end. All the YouTube videos have the secure https whenever I copy a video URL . And I've noticed a few other members have also experienced the same thing.

At any rate, I found out today that I need to make some necessary code changes to the plug-in. That way it will play nice either way.

Some show up on my PC but not my tablet since TT update

The problem has now been corrected. All YouTube vids should show for all members who share them. I can't guarantee that this will have any effect with Tapatalk. That is an entirely different beast.

P.S. Some members never experienced this problem to begin with, but some did (including myself). The solution should ensure results for everyone.

Thought you might want to see the YouTube plug-in as it was being repaired at UMA headquarters.

And it's so much more reliable than the old way, the way it was when I first joined the UMA:

What's the end game in that picture? I can't figure out what the knife is supposed to do? Also, just what is sticking out of that tree?

We lost the instruction sheet that explained all that stuff, Mike.
