Saw this on Facebook when I woke up this morning. Shocking and sad news! He was a really great guy with a big heart and a big love for monsters and art and that's ALWAYS a winning combination! See you at that great big monster mash in the sky brother!
Do you like monsters? They're my only weakness...

Dr. Madd

Whenever one of you sees a shadowy, hominid form in the wilderness, think of him.
Whenever you see one of his incredible art objects, think of him.
Whenever a giant footprint crosses your gaze, never fear: Its just UMA's mighty guardian angel, the one, the only Unknown Primate, often imitated, but never, ever duplicated.
When you reach the monster mash in heaven, He'll be the one playing checkers with Forrest Ackerman.

We miss you

Definitely one of the good ones!  Condolences to the family.

I am heartbroken. This was a good man. Clearly he has left an impact on our world and our hobby. An impact 1000 times bigger then this very big, gracious man.

Condolences to his family. May God Bless him and them, now and forever.

Absolutely devastated by this news. Mark was a fantastic person and friend. The UMA won't be the same without him. Rest in peace big guy.

I am in shock and at a loss for words and shaking while I type this. Mark was such a GREAT guy and everything this monster family is all about. I will cherish the art he sent me and words exchanged all the more.
We'll miss you buddy. :'(

Today is a dreary, gray day in more ways than one...the news we received last night hangs like a dark cloud over us all. Hard to believe someone as vibrant, funny, giving of himself and insanely talented as Mark could possibly be gone. He was a life force in and of himself...this AMAZING Bigfoot sculpt graces my computer desk now and forever. Right now i can't look at it without tearing up. God bless you Mark and your entire family and thank you Terry for giving us this place to make and cherish such wonderful friends.

Dr. Madd

And I have the honor of three of his artworks, a portrait he did of me, a yowie, and an uber-awesome bigfoot sculpture that sits on my shelf where I can see it from my desk.

Sorrow.

Guys like Mark make me hope for an afterlife so that maybe I could meet him someday. Sympathy for his family and all he touched here on UMA and beyond.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...
