Cool. I have a friend who taped a segment for Toy Hunter long ago, but I never saw him on the show. Hopefully they were saving it for this episode.

I watch this show and seriously wish I had kept the toys that I had growing up.  :(

I watch the show and see a whole lot of stuff I used to have and wish I still did. I think he lowballs the prices too much. I know he has to make a profit but I think he could do better on the prices he pays. I know the value of a lot of those toys and he comes in too low IMHO.

Sometimes he low-balls and sometimes he high-balls. I wouldn't use the show as a price guide. But it's nice that there is a show about toy collecting on the air. He'll actually talk about an AHI or Tomland toy by name, which is not something I thought I'd ever see on national TV. It's also cool that the same network, Travel Channel, has a show that connects with the mask collecting hobby–Making Monsters.

Yep, it is really weird how Toy Hunter and American Pickers operate?!?!  Sometimes they go for blood when trying to get the cheapest price...other times they'll stop someone and tell them that they are undervaluing an item and offer them more?!?!  Now the guy (and crew) from Hardcore Pawn, they are just out to low ball everyone on everything!!!

Toy Hunter has good and bad points like everything. The good is that there is at least something on featuring toys, and treating toy collecting as a legit hobby. The bad is that it is transparently, and poorly, scripted, and the prices are hardly an indication of true market value. However, when they feature monster toys it makes the aggravating parts worth putting up with.

I wish someone would do a show about the monster collectible market and not have any BS scripted drama. Just someone shooting the dealers room at a Chiller or Monster Bash for 30 minutes would be awesome. They could interview dealers and discuss the value, background, and rarity of toys, monster mags, comics, masks, posters, and model kits. If there isn't enough interest to sell the idea to the TV suits, then it would at least make a great YouTube show.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

I think as collectors, we are definitely lucky to have a show like Toy Hunter. It is was it is. A scripted reality show. Maybe little over-board on the estimated prices? But a fun show to watch. Plus, not to mention, Distortions(Making Monsters). It is a great time to be a nerd. Syfy, has some interesting nerd shows, too. Heroes of Displayed and the
popular, Face Off.  Unfortunately, Syfy did air a possible collectors show named: Collectors Intervention. The show ran
six episodes. Eventually canceled.

I haven't watched it yet, but some of it was filmed at Horrorhound Cincinnati in March.
