Love them both, but have to give the edge to Outer Limits.........I kinda like MONSTERS, ya know.
We're all here because we're not all there.

I like them both as well.  I chose the Outer Limits, and just slightly ahead of the Twilight Zone.  The Outer Limits had some better stories, more monsters, and it was an hour long (yeah I know the 4th season of TZ was an hour long).  Although the Twilight Zone had a wider story range.  I cannot see The Outer Limits doing an episode like The Obsolete Man, Showdown with Rance McGrew, or Cavander is Coming as the Twilight Zone did.
"Listen to them; the children of the night.  What music they make!"  Dracula

This is very close but I voted for The Twilight Zone.  Rod Serling was a factor and I feel that (watching as a little kid) that that The Twilight Zone had better 'twists' to the stories.

Even though TZ was the better show, OL just got under my skin more. Outer Limits!

I agree...the reason I liked OL better was because they had a monster ("bear" as referred to by the producers) in every episode but one, and at the time I was only 9 so I liked seeing scary monsters more than watching well-conceived stories. Now, of course, I love them both.

So many movies and stories in the Horror, sci-fi, and weird tale subject matter, were 1st explored on the Twilight Zone. Great writers like Charles Beaumont and Richard Matheson, not to mention many penned by Serling himself, contributed amazing stories to TZ. Some of them are brilliant, but they've been copied so many times we take them for granted. I love the Outer Limits, too, and they have better monsters, but you can't discount the impact that TZ has made on modern horror and storytelling in general.

Even the name "Twilight Zone" is used to this day as an adjective.  One of my favorite shows as a kid was "Hoppity Hooper", and one of their adventures was a sendup of Serling's show called "The Traffic Zone".

There's nothing like the classic artwork on the older comic covers. It's like the art on the old lobby cards -- classic versus today's high-tech photo-crap.

Amazing covers, Hepcat :) Are these part of your collection too? You have an awesome collection of various publications!

For me, both shows were and are equally amazing. But, I like the Outer Limits more.  Not to take away the greatness of the Twilight Zone.
