Char - I LOVE "Sexy Beast"! Awesome movie!

I've seen HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN and got a helluva kick outta it!

There's movie called PONTYPOOL (2008) I've watched 3 times on Netflix.  I think it's one of the best films I've seen in the past year or two.  Kind of a creepy, psychological thriller.  I just love it!  Don't know anyone else who's seen it, but my family usually makes fun of me when I speak of it.

What's really weird is the amount of movies that do absolutely nothing for me, but EVERYBODY else in the world seems to worship!  ;D

There are a lot of hairless primates whose only taste is in their mouths.

There are lots of movies I like that the folks around me don't.
Those would include:
Clerks
Dogma
Repo Man
13th Warrior
Beowulf and Grendel
Rare Exports
Dead Snow
Troll Hunter
Blackthorn

I didn't hate Beowulf and Grendel .. I did sort of expect to see the dog from 'Thirtysomething' but got over it.

Are you referring to the semi-animated "Motion Capture" cartoon?
That got pretty good reviews in the States. But I couldn't make myself watch the whole thing.  I felt the same way about the animated comic book--er--"graphic Novel" 300.

There was also a version made in 1999 with Christopher Lambert.  It was more of a post-apocalypse Mad Max vs Grendel movie.  Actually pretty good--despite looking like it was filmed for less than $100.

"Student Bodies".  A trite comedy from (I think) 1981, which was based on fact; that how a lot of horror movies had been released the year before, and none of them lost money.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

Yes, the motion capture film, I've actually watched it 2 or 3 times!...but I'm with you on '300', couldn't get through the whole film.

Have to think for a second about this one...

Dr Jekyll & Ms. Hyde (1980's or '90's?)
Neighbors (Comedy w/ Belushi + Akroyd), I should have listed this on another thread
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (Uma Thurman)
The White Buffalo (Charles Bronson)
Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (Chrisopher Lambert)
Zardoz (Connery)

Rocky
Rocky II
Rocky Balboa (just a few years ago)
^The pictures in between II and RB were filler to make money and they were all terrible

Myra Breckinridge
Sorcerer (1970's?- it's been a while)
Andy Warhol's Frankenstein & Andy Warhol's Dracula
Rollerball (Original- 1970's??)-- but the remake made a few years ago was terrible
The Bounty (Mel Gibson)
The Avengers (remake of the old TV show)

Paladin - I don't know anyone (well, men anyway) who don't like 'Rocky'! I like em all apart from 5. Sure they became ridiculous after 2, but that's what I love about em!

L L Kong- I've actually met a ton of guys in my life that wouldn't admit to liking Rocky. It may be machismo, not liking Stallone, or whatever... I don't know.
I (myself) think that the first one (Rocky) was brilliant and almost a forgotten classic.

I hear what you are saying- but after the second film the series sank big time and it got quite ridiculous.
The closure, "Rocky Balboa", wasn't a "five star film", but Stallone did do a solid job at finishing off the story.

Another film that I like a lot and folks don't seem to is called Paradise Alley- another Stallone flick.

I'm not a "great big" fan of Stallone, but he did hit the jackpot with his Rocky story.
