Even if Man Of Steel sucks, we'll get another

Also, Batman and Superman have fought several times and Batman (in the comic universe as it is now) is the only one to possess the kryptonite ring (given to him by Superman) that would allow him to fight Superman.

Interestingly, there is no kryptonite in the current Man Of Steel film.

CB isn't Batman any more, Joseph Gordon Levitt is.

Only as far as the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy is concerned!  The role of Batman for the Superman-Batman team up hasn't been cast yet!

That is true, however this Superman and Batman would also appear in the Justice League movie and it is doubtful he would want to do that.

In "The Dark Knight Returns," Batman had to synthesize Kryptonite ("It took years and cost a fortune, Clark. Fortunately, I had both!") In order to defeat Superman. He also used a mechanically enhanced, armored battle suit.

I'm hoping for something more along the lines of "World's Finest," where they have to overcome their inherent mistrust of each other (Batman wears a lead-lined cowl around Superman, so he can't use his X-ray vision to see who Batman really is) in order to defeat a common enemy. In "The Batman/Superman Movie," Lex Luther went to Gotham and The Joker moved to Metropolis. They figured their different styles would put the two heroes off-kilter enough to finally defeat them.

Ok, I'm warming to the idea now! I really don't read enough comics, 'The Dark Knight Returns' sounds like a great read. The last Batman graphic novel I read was Batman vs Predator a few years back.

Ok, late comment on Man of Steel but here it is. When I left the mive I thought "it's OK". Then I thought "Boy, after all the millions of dollars they spent on it and al the talent they used, the best they coudl get from me was "it's OK". To me that says a lot about the movie.
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

I'll see the next one just because Batman is in it.  Every Superman movie after Christopher Reeves has been a disapointment, including Man Of Steel.  Sucker for the Bat though.

Well, he's played Daredevil and George Reeves as Superman...

Batman-Superman feature to hit theaters July 17, 2015

Justin Kroll Film Reporter

Ben Affleck is Batman.

The actor will replace Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming untitled Batman-Superman feature for Warner Bros., the studio announced Thursday.

Affleck becomes the eighth actor to play the Caped Crusader, following Bale, George Clooney and Michael Keaton.

"We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics' most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some," WB president Greg Silverman said in a statement.

Directed by "Man of Steel" filmmaker Zack Snyder, the Batman-Superman feature will open worldwide on July 17, 2015, with Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Diane Lane reprising their roles.

"Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne," Snyder said in a statement. "I can't wait to work with him."

The announcement of a Batman-Superman film was revealed last month at Comic-con to much excitement of fanboys, who will surely be watching as the studio begins to assemble its Justice League.

The irony of Thursday's news is that at one point Warner Bros. was interested in having Affleck direct the "Justice League" movie and his participation in this film will now spur interest if whether his casting means a possibility of directing that film.

The Boston native recently upped his Hollywood power when he won the Best Picture Oscar for "Argo."

Affleck, repped by WME, can be seen next in Fox and New Regency's thriller "Runner Runner."

I was really hoping for Keanu or Nicolas Cage (or even Fred Savage).

Sorry, but that would be Robby Benson (I don't think anyone here will remember him or his greatness).

Fred Savage is a "Family Guy" reference. ;)

The Batman

But seriously...

Clooney had a crappy script, crappy storyline, crappy Batsuit & a crappy Batmobile.
But he could have been a great Batman if the script, story, Batsuit and Batmobile were all great.

So Affleck could be OK. Add some intense, interesting, powerful bad guys and it may work. Time will tell.

SPOILER ALERT!

Batman, tired and scarred from years of beating up villains, builds a house made entirely from Kryptonite. Superman picks up Mount Everest and hurls it onto Batman's Krypto-cave. End of fight.
