The only exception I would make to the 'odd' packaging would be those oversized collector tins that Anchor Bay did back in the day.  I have Fulci's The Beyond, Evil Dead 2, Hellraiser 1 and 2 (in one set, the second film was a bonus disc, how damn cool) and Repo Man.  Beyond that they suck.
