I haven't had the chance to look through the whole list, but I noticed a few UMA members listed in the running for a Rondo.  Be sure to suport your fellow members here.

Hmmmmm. I suspect that any UMA members are probably disguising themselves with their real names. Twould be nice if they stood up and revealed themselves.

Collecting! It's what I do!

I may have missed it, but where is Kirk Hammetts too much horror business book on the list? Or should he be a write in for monster kid?
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

It's all about the Horror.

At the very least, vote for the UMA under Best Website!

Rob

P.S. Does anyone in the now have time to go through and point out the UMA members?  Unfortunately, it's time-consuming and my time is currently consumed.

Problem is, a lot of people use screen names, here.  Maybe just ask everybody to ID themselves?

I'm up for "Best Interview," a piece I did with Dark Shadows actress Marie Wallace for Fangoria. It's my third nomination--so, hopefully third time will be the charm!

Besides voting in the book category, I would recommend voting for Kirk as Monster Kid of the Year. Outside the UMA, I don't think there is a lot of support for him in that category. I don't think his book means as much to non-collectors as it does to many of us here.

What part did Marie Wallace play on DS?

She played three parts. The first was "Eve," the Bride-of-Frankenstein-inspired mate of "Adam," played by Robert Rodan. Barnabas and Julia brought her to life. The second was "Crazy Jenny Collins," during the 1897 flashback storyline. She was Quentin (David Selby) Collins' wife, locked in a tower room like Rochester's wife in Jane Eyre. The second was "Megan Todd," who ran an antique shop with her husband, Phillip (Chris Bernau). They were entrusted with the "Naga Box," containing the seed of the "Leviathan" (eventually played by Chris Pennock). She was also offered a role in the first DS movie, House of Dark Shadows, but she'd left the show by then for "Somerset," a soap on NBC.

My connection with Marie goes all the way back to the summer of 1969, when I was 16. We (my sister and I) were big Dark Shadows fans, and I belonged to Marie's fan club. I read that she'd be appearing in a stage play at Hampton Playhouse in Hampton, NH and begged our parents to take us. They did. I wrote a note to Marie and asked if we could come backstage afterward. She said we could, and we all enjoyed a great visit. Flash forward 30 years. It's 1999, and through a DS message board, I reconnect with Marie. Amazingly, she remembered details about our visit! That led to three interviews. The first, which ran as part of my DS coverage in Scary Monsters #55, scored me a Rondo nom for "Best Article" in 2005. The second, entitled "On Stage and In Shadows," was again in Scary Monsters, and I earned a Rondo nom for "Best Interview" of 2011. The third was for Fangoria, entitled "Eve of Destruction." I covered the DS movie for Fango, and her interview was part of it. Had no idea it would get me a nomination!

Thanks for the info, Rod.  Been a long time since I saw the show and I didn't remember her name.
