I remember that was pretty cool to see.

Monsters For Sale

Bates Motel TV Series

Finished watching episodes 1 through 5.

Just got a BLU-Ray set.  I first watched them on broadcast television on a 27 inch standard 1.33:1 TV.  Now I am watching them on BLU with my new 4K player on my 55 inch widescreen 1.78:1 4K smart TV.

I am astounded at how great the series looks this time!  I had no idea they were so pretty.

I really liked that series. Also saw it first run.

Quote from: horrorhunter on March 29, 2025, 11:24:51 AMI need to revisit them myself. I usually watch the original OL episodes every few months. Some of them are excellent, most are good, and some fall a bit short, but I love them all. The Outer Limits scared me as a child and is a big part of making me a Monster Kid.

Lunkenstein, I commend you on your good taste when monstering.

Thank you, horrorhunter.
I've loved OL since I first saw them as a young boy. They made a huge impression on me.

Quote from: Lunkenstein on March 30, 2025, 10:23:08 AMA couple of these really scared me as a kid. Night Caller and An Unlocked Window.
An Unlocked Window really scared me as a 5-year-old, probably more than any other TV show episode.

Look who I just saw in a AHH episode. (Not Hitch, he's in every epi.)

The show was filmed at Universal, so they could use whatever was lying around.

The episode was called "The Sign of Satan" and starred Christopher Lee. The proto MM was only in the last segment with Hitch.

The Wild, Wild West (1st Season)

Night Gallery (2nd Season)

I enjoy Night Gallery but I'm not a fan of those segments written by producer Jack Laird. They try to be Monster Comedy Relief, but I think they're just poorly done, like by a 10-year-old monster fan trying to be clever. Serling's stories are very good, and the rest range from average to good, except for Laird's.

Night Gallery season 2: A Death In the Family/The Merciful/Class of '99/Witches' Feast
Sleepy Hollow season 3
Doctor Who: The Tenth Planet/Power Of the Daleks
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

I agree the short, comedy segments are usually pretty corny, but I do like seeing Leslie Nielsen as The Phantom of the Opera. That one is hilarious.

Finally made it to the "An Unlocked Window" episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. Even though I figured out the twist ending (probably less obvious in the '60s), it was still one of the best episodes of both series! Herrmann's score really ramped up the spooky!

As a 5-year-old it struck me pretty hard. My psyche is still smarting.  ;D

I watched TZ and OL when I was a kid, but never watched the Hitchcock shows, or Thriller.

Like horror hunter, It really scared me as a kid. I didn't see Psycho until around 1968, so this one really fooled me. The reveal definitely freaked me out, lol.

Finally finished all 10 seasons of the Hitchcock shows!  :)

The final episode had John Gavin in a motel with a Bernard Herrmann score.  ;D

Started watching Kolchak: The Night Stalker for the first time since the original run. Only 20 episodes, so it shouldn't take long. Watched the Jack the Ripper one and the Zombie one, so far.
