just bought and binge watched season three (final season) of Penny Dreadful this week. Man I think that show had a ton of potential but I certainly would have done things different. It got a little coo-coo religious apocolypsy God vs. the devil/the end of the world for my tastes by the end of the series. I loved the characters, the atmospheric sets were gorgeous, and most of the plot at least until the 3rd season anyway was great. Still the best show to build a world around 1800's supernatural Victorian era and the Gothic novels our favorite monsters are based off of that I have seen.

I am still hemming and hawing about buying American Horror Story season 2 Asylum, season 3 Coven, and season 5 Hotel as the subject matter didn't seem nearly as creepy as season 1 Murder House and season 4 Freakshow (I bought both) and enjoyed. I might buy the others when they are on sale or something.

I sure love Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories (1985-1987)especially the phantom train one and the cartoon WWII bomber tires one

I just couldn't get into Ray Bradbury's Theater (1985-1992) I bought a couple of discs at K-Mart in the discount bin but after watching a handful set it aside, it sure is slow.

Tales From the Darkside is now in a complete boxed set (seasons 1 thru 4) at Walmart
All of the Tales From the Crypt seasons are readily available at Walmart as well.
I had to order the Tales from the Cryptkeeper cartoon series as it is much harder to come by on DVD

Monsters (1988-1991) is fun
Tall Tales and Legends (1985-1987) is very nostalgic for me and even has a quaint little Sleepy Hollow version.

the white whale of scary TV series that I have been unable to get my hands on is that old TV show Werewolf (1987-1988) As far as I know it wasn't released on DVD in the U.S. due to multiple problems with soundtrack rights and distribution or something although it was released elsewhere as I see Pal versions for sale sometimes.
