The Cantankerous Collector

I wished Retro-a-go-go was able to die cut the eyes out of their metal signs. I think it would look much cooler.

Just ordered this one.  This is from a line called 'Pack-o-Game' where the titles are in a box that's roughly the size and shape of your classic 5 stick pack of chewing gum.  It's a 2 player game, with cards consisting of black ghosts and white ghosts, with the ghost of the opposite color on the other side of the card.  It's all about your ghosts scaring other ghosts and flipping their cards, changing them to your color.  It's just something small that I'd been wanting.

Here's a little explanation video.

The 500 series is the only one that doesn't skimp on monsters.  The other ultraman lines need more bad guys desperately.

Two of my local Walmarts got their annual pallet of model kits, located near the toy aisles.  It has a pretty good assortment - classic AMT reissues, some Coke edition stuff, Star Trek, etc.  New stuff this year included two different Wacky Racer models, some custom chopper models, including Ed Roth's Mail Box Trike, and a Studebaker model that came in a tin box.  Most were either $15, $20, or $25.

But what grabbed me were these Lindberg Jolly Roger series pirate motion models, molded in Glow in the Dark Plastic.  The pallets only have two models from the line - The Duel with Death and Escape the Tentacles of Fate.  Both are $15 each.  I thought they were cool and reminded me of the old Pirates of the Caribbean models - only to look online and discover that they are!  (And now I want the "Hex Marks the Spot" kit!)  It looks like they reissued the entire Disney line.

I had the octopus version when I was a kid. Is this really an annual one-time thing with Wal Mart and model kits?

From what I've seen when I've been paying attention, yes.  Its one big, pre-packed, cardboard display, loaded onto a pallet that gets dropped in the middle of the aisles near toys.  It's 4 sided, with an assortment of different genres of models - classic cars, modern cars, movie cars (the Tim Burton Batmobile was there this year), Star Trek/Wars, and some "wacky" ones.  Last year or the year before it was 3 or 4 Weird-Ohs for $8 each.  As the models sell down they eventually will get moved to an endcap, and I've seen some stick around to be clearanced slightly.

Oh man, I would be down for those pirate kits. I saw an endcap full of models at the Walmart one town over, but although they had the Trek, Batman and Coke kits, the rest were standard cars, etc. I may need to go back and dig through to see if I missed these.

If anybody wants help with these, let me know and I can look locally for them.  Price + tax + shipping.

Although after shipping they might be available online for about the same.
