Anton, don't look for any DST UM items in TRU for a while yet. I don't know what has shipped, if anything.

should be coming soon. Listed as avaialable in stores on TRU's webpage. Not available for online pre-order yet though. My TRU gets trucks on Thursdays and Saturdays. I will check them out again this weekend. :angel:

I see the regular wave 4 Uni Monster figures on the TRU site...Is there any word yet on whether or not they will also be carrying the EMCE Retro figures, to?

I would love to use the coupon. But since most TRU employees look at me as if I am from Mars when I ask about them----it aint looking good for this weekend,lol. :laugh: :laugh:

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but T'R'U has dropped the price of the new DST 7" figures to $12.99. That's three bucks less than the last wave. That's definitely a positive trend.

I posted my questions in the ask DST Q&A and received an answer posted for all the world to see, and re-posted here.

Retro is, indeed, over after Mutant and Phantom. The Revenge of Creature/Son of Frankenstein/VanHelsing wave is most likely the swan song for the TRU/DST deluxes as well. It was a great run. We got a great mr. Hyde figure that no one else has ever done a licensed piece of except Don Post(to the best of my humble knowledge).

So~~ although Sideshow still holds the title for most expansive Universal Monsters figures---they did get slightly upstaged with the inclusion of Hyde. Here's the Q&A:

Me: Hi there! My queries concern Universal Monsters. The two lines in question being the plastic action figures with bases and the retro cloth "Mego" figures. I am aware that this Halloween season a new wave of each is being released (Hunchback-Hyde-Mole Person for figures, Phantom and Mutant for retro.}

I said all that to ask this: Is the retro cloth line ending with Phantom and Mutant? Usually at SDCC or Toy fair a new wave is announced in addition to the wave that is forthcoming. Yet no wave 5 for retro was previewed. So I am curious if wave four is the swan song. With regards to the action figures: I see we are now getting into varying versions of characters already produced with Son of Frankenstein and Revenge of the Creature. Is this to be the final wave of those, being as we are now getting into characters that have already been done in prior waves—just as variant versions with improved tooling from the sequels? 2 Big questions I know—but after so many lines getting the axe in this economy—I am a little fearful the monsters may be next. Thanks.

: Richard, I think we're done with retro, and I'm not sure where monsters will go after Son and Revenge, but it is not the economy or the line getting axed, it would be more a matter of us thinking we've done all the characters in that realm that we think can support an action figure line. The line has done pretty well for us, but more than that, it's been amazing for all of us that loved these movies so much to be able to make products based on them.

Maybe Mezco will pick up the license, then. I would love to see a 4" figure line with small playsets, a la the McFarlane MONSTERS Playsets of the '90s. Think of an expanding Frankenstein's Laboratory, with each new figure release bringing more sections. Castle Dracula, the Black Lagoon, etc. I could start designing these suckers tonight, the idea excites me so!

I believe he's referring to the Creature coming in this wave. Don't know if it's film-specific or not.

I figured it might be that one. Yeah, it's not a REVENGE face.

That title was always confusing, anyway. At what point, exactly, does the Creature get any type of "Revenge"? He ends up floating face-first, just like in the first one! The title should have been, "The Creature Gets Worked Over and Murdered, Again!"
