Anyone recognize this token?  Know where or when it was produced/used?

It is just a bit larger than a nickel and just a bit smaller than a quarter.  The metal is copper/brass or has a copper/brass wash.

The design element below "No Cash Value" looks like a small case letter "g" and a musical eighth note side-by-side, but not touching.

Was there ever an arcade or amusement park named Frankenstein's Castle?

Frankenstein's Castle was an old school haunted house walk-through attraction in Wildwood, N.J., at a place called "Fun Pier". It was a popular spot in it's hey day, and there used to be old TV commercials for it on youtube. I have a couple of the large plaster "Tuscany" Monster statues that have the name of the attraction carved into the front of the base. There was an adjoining pier with various rides and related games. The statues were the large prizes for one of the carnival games adjacent to Frankenstein's Castle. Most of Fun Pier burned down in a large fire in the 1980s. http://www.angelfire.com/nj/wwbysea/FUN/frankensteincastle.html

I'm sure your coin was a token to either get into the haunted castle or for use in the arcade games on the pier.

i believe the castle can be seen in the background of this video at about 24 minutes-  http://youtu.be/ZxEBT7x3PYQ

I've been looking around for pictures of Frankenstein's Castle and am not having any luck.

Anyone out there know of any - prefereably large, clear views?

BTW, there was a similar oceanside attraction called Brigantine Castle in Brigantine, NJ. It met a similar fate and also burned in the 1980s.

You sure this is the same place the token came from?

The attraction's sign says "Castle Frankenstein".  The token says "Frankenstein's Castle".  ???

No, I'm not sure, but it's the only one I know of that was hugely popular, well known, and has Frankenstein and Castle in the title. :P

So cool, how'd you like to have that huge Frankenstein!

I know I would. Really cool picture. I bet the attraction was cool?!
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

I noticed the name difference as well, but look at the chin on that huge Frank. Looks big and wacky like the coin.

Good observation- a very distinct lantern jaw!

I would think to have your own game tokens minted like this, it would have had to have been a business that turned some $$$. Most smaller arcades I recall just had generic tokens.

Here is a photo from the inside of the attraction. Looks like the goofy Frankenstein painting on the wall also sports the big jaw, plus the "parted down the middle" haircut, like on the token! (Also note the GREEN outfit on the seated Frankenstein- they were ahead of their time~!)

I do know that the "House Of Frankenstein" in Lake George had wooden tokens with the image of the monster on them.

Different animal altogether:

I still don't think the Frankenstein's Castle token belongs to any of the above.

Thought I'd bump this up to see if anyone has any other ideas.
