I discovered these puzzles here on this board sometime last year, and with the addition of the rare and elusive Jekyll and Hyde, I now have a complete set.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Very nice collection, HK! They look great altogether in a row!

Wow, I do like the artwork there. Although it seems that Hyde in the Jekyll section seems to be heavily influenced by Frederic March's version, but the actual Hyde puzzle portion is not.

Frankenstein looks a bit like DC's "Spawn of Frankenstein" as well...

Collecting! It's what I do!

Very cool puzzles; I could just see those characters/designs being featured in a late 80's/early 90's cartoon!

Now if i could just find a set of the jaymar puzzle, and the achor hocking (?) Monster glasses from '62, I'd be happy.

I really like the Jekyll & Hyde puzzle.  Never seen one of these before.  It's clever that they made it double-sided with good on one side and evil on the other side.

It brings so many questions to mind:

1.  Why is it so much larger than the others?  (Is the puzzle also larger than the others - or just the box?)

2.  Was it made the same year as the other three?

3.  Was there also a smaller/matching size version?

4.  Were any of the others produced in the larger size?

Very nice score - congratulations.

The puzzle is bigger (36" tall, the others are 20"), there is no smaller version, no larger version of the others. Not sure if it was made the same year as the others but I think it was. Don't know why it's the only one that was made larger. I read in a post here that it was released in a different assortment of puzzles from the others, and is a lot more rare than the others. Which seems to be true, as I have not seen one on ebay in all the time since I started looking for them. Found this one on some other site.

I believe it was offered the same year(s) as the others and it was sold as its own case- meaning a retailer had to order an entire case of just that puzzle - hence part of the rarity (price being the other element). HG Toys did this a lot, spreading a license or brand accross multiple price points. Creepy Creatures seems to have been an in house brand, it was planned for a plastic figures set and perhaps more. Congrats on the set. They are beautiful illustrations and innovative packages, a real pleasure to see on display like that.

Either someone at Marvel copied this Mr. Hyde or vice versa, because they're practically identical, esp. from the neck up.
