Wow! I think I had that bowl when I was a kid.

Here are a couple of my most recent purchases from the Motor City Comic Con.

A Ron Frenz sketch of the Creature

A Print from our own ARTMAN Steven B.  The print looks better in person than my crappy photogaphy.  He was also a nice guy and enjoyed chatting with him very much!

Yes My friend. There is a cup too,  I think,  I have it somewhere, but can't find it.

Well, I guess being sort of a lower case pseudo "internet celebrity" has it perks. Last night, I met one of our CollectionDX readers and he actually brought me a gift! Totally random and unexpected, but he gave me a set of 7 monster/Halloween flashlights. I've never see these before so I don't know anything about them, but I think they're pretty cool. I'm not sure what the yellow one is supposed to be though.

He also brought some tagged Imperial jigglers, but since I already had those, I let my friends kids have them. Oh, and he also had a bunch of old dime store "Smoking Monkeys", little plastic monkeys that somehow "puff" on a fake cigarette. Not monster related but pretty damn neat!

Dave,

I have the Dracula, the Frankenstein, and the yellow guy (I don't know who he is either.).  I got them from a store called Five Below a couple of years ago.  They are kind of neat in their own way.  The smoking monkeys (I've also seen weiner dogs) have always been one of my favorite novelty items.

Let us not forget the ''Smoking Baby''. Can't believe something this un-PC exists in today's market. [got mine from Archie Mcphee]

Here's a couple of ebay wins that just arrived.

These wish niks I won for $55.  Good price?  Frank needs a shirt but these are my first ones.  How many were made (monsters, that is)?

Here's my second Remco Monsters at Home (I also have the Frankenstein).  $56 on ebay.

And last but not least, my daughter and I dropped off some boxes of stuff at Goodwill and decided to take a stroll through the store for kicks.  Hannah plopped herself in front of the massive children's books section and I decided to flip through all the $1 albums.  Check this out!

It' in EXCELLENT condition.  Any idea of what year?  You just never know what you'll find at one of these places.  Heck - my only two suit/sport coats came from there.  Paid a total of $11 for both of them.   ;)

Good scores, Jeff.  The artwork on the Elsa album is lovely.  I think half the non-Bride Elsa pics on the Net must have been scanned off the back of that sleeve.

Very good stuff, Jeff!  Love the record.

Wow Dave, love those lights.

Creepy, those niks are some of the weirdest monsters I've seen, but a 60'ish cool.  The Elsa LP Should have had a Bride pic on the back though.

Wish I could get a carded Creature for that price!  :'(

The Elsa album was from 1957, followed by "Songs for a Shuttered Parlor" in 1958.

There's a great moment in Bell, Book, and Candle where Elsa is sitting in the Zodiac, talking to Kim Novak. There's a profile shot of her as she listens. She moves her head in a slightly jerky fashion with eyes wide. I'd just about swear that she was doing a little homage to The Bride.

Not a monster toy, but something cool that I picked up at the thrift store yesterday...
Of all the strange things, it's a Holy Water bottle. Now I just need to fill it up with said water, stick a cork in it, and I'll have a perfect weapon to combat vampires and the undead with. :D
