2 childhood classics arrived this week. 1979 Knickerbocker stuffed Godzilla and a Mattel Shogun Warriors Great Mazinga. That completes all the Shoguns I had.

Wish I had 2 of each toy as a kid....1 to play with and 1 kept mint in the box!!

Yesterday I found this guy. Imperial's Wolfman. It took me years to find him in great shape and on card.

....and this.....
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Mord

Congrats. That's as mint as it gets.

So cool. Is that from 1980? I can't read the date. Because there was a bendy wire creature I had that might be from the same line.

The back reads 1986. So, rad! He looks cool in person, two. Howl!!

That's great.

All the Imperial figure cards I've seen are pretty wavy.  That's a NICE one!

Yeah...the card is really nice. A bend on the bottom. Not too noticable.

I mostly remember them sold loose with tags around the neck. I'm sure you have a Frankenstein one.

I do have a Frankenstein on a card. The card is damaged. The rest I don't have. Ironically, the Wolfman is my least favorite of the Universal Monsters. But in this case, as an imperial figure. He is my favorite out of the four. The Mummy and Dracula being my least faves. King Kong....I don't know if that was marketed with the four.

Yeah.  I've got Frank both ways.

I always liked the colorful cards Imperial monsters had.

They made this Magnetic Disguise toy in 1987:

Pretty dumb disguises.  Who wouldn't recognize Frankenstein with a handle bar mustache?  He wasn't exactly Clark Kent.

And what the heck with Wolf Man?  Did anyone think parting his hair on the other side would make him unrecognizable?

I don't think Kong was, but I could be wrong. The Wolfman does look the best, with Frankenstein second. Dracula looks constipated and the Mummy...ah, yeah. Many people think it's patterned after "Abbott & Costello Meet the Mummy". Personally, I just think it's a lazy sculpt job.

Ha, I love "porn-stache" Frank. "Did you call for a plummer, mam"? Cue the funky porn music.

The only Creature bendys were from AHI (1974) and Vic's (1979).
