Collecting! It's what I do!

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

John Pertwee

I just picked up Eerie #2-8 and #10 in a trade.

These were the heavy hitters, but he has some more later issues and some Creepy issues I don't have so I'll have some more to show in a few weeks.

Hi all,

I'm not a collector, but I was looking through some things that I had and I'm not sure what they are.  They are paper strips about 5 inches long, folded in the middle.  They are filled with different images from old universal pictures movies.  The images seem to mainly be Dracula, Frankenstein and may some bride of Frankenstein.  I'm thinking they were the prize in a box of cereal or something like that back in the 1960's.  But, really, I don't have any ideas.  I've attached an image below.  Any help identifying these would be greatly appreciated.  I would love to get them in the hands of a collector who could really appreciate them.

Thank you,

Dan

Welcome to the UMA, dvportin !  :)

That is one of (or part of?) the flipbooks used it the "Horrorscope" movie viewer, from the early '60s. It was basically a device that flipped the flipbook for you. Cheap toy in the '60s, expensive collectible today! Made by Multiple Products, Inc. Film clips from Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Curse of the Werewolf.

Mike Scott,

Thank you!  That is exactly what I have!  I don't have the viewer, i just have a rather incomplete set of cards.  I did a quick online search and couldn't find any of the flip cards alone, they all had a viewer with them.  I'll have to look into this more.  Do you know of any collectors who might be interested in these?

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks again.

I couldn't tell you how many cards are in a complete set, though somebody around here probably does.

I don't know of anybody wanting cards, but maybe someone else does? I don't know what cards are going for, either.

this morning's flea market find:

it was one of those moments when you see something sitting on a table and you have to try and pick your jaw up off the floor to make the purchase. i was so excited that i just briefly opened the box & gave it a once over.... "yup, looks good to me"

it wasn't until the drive home that i was able to calm down and reel myself back in that i thought... "i hope those little pieces are all there... sure would be a shame if i can't play it..."

well, just got home... and it's complete!

Creepy

I shared this in the mask section as well, but I believe it deserves a place here. I found a vintage, Topstone Shock Monster. Straight from the pages of Famous Monsters. One of only a few, in this condition, that have survived.
