Quote from: Rockshasa on March 25, 2016, 10:38:57 AMIn hindsight, I'd love to build/paint this guy all over again.... But if I could tackle this guy all over again, I'd paint him very differently.

What would you do differently? Add blood? Make the snake a coral snake? Differentiate the colour of the lizard from that of the Creature more strongly?

Wow! Those are really nice ones! Even the lizards have character.

Regardless, you could say the kit looks better without the snake tongue since snakes can't stick out their tongues with their mouths open anyways.

Why did you go out of your way to make it appear that I was lying? If I made such an ass of myself I would not only "stand corrected", I would apologize. I don't like this kind of contentious foolishness, but I also don't like to be called a liar by someone who wasn't even involved in the conversation and went out of their way to take a cheap shot. When you confront people like that with malice you had better know what you're talking about, which it's now clear that you didn't.

Lying? Cheap shot? Malice? WTH? I don't remember calling you a liar. Yes, I disagreed (but I stand corrected). I, along with Mike, thought the snake came without a tongue. Are assumptions illegal on this forum? Is one not allowed to make a mistake? BTW, this is an internet forum, and ANYONE can join into the conversation...that's what it's all about.  I never called you a "liar", but you did call me an "ass", LOL. And since your last post was totally scathing, NO, you will not get a formal apology from me. My "stand corrected" was your apology. Sorry.

Hep, I am happy with the way I sanded and glued the kit. But back in 2001, I was dating someone, and they were taking up alot of my time. They didn't understand my love of monster models or monster toy collecting. We were spending alot of time at my place, and I was having trouble concentrating on my paint apps. Usually, when I prepare to paint a kit I go out onto Google Images and I download as many build-ups of the kit as I can. I then evaluate all the paint jobs, and pick out the things I like best. I didn't do that with this kit. I just didn't take the time to really think about embellishing it to make it look great. I hated the way I painted the face...the red lipstick, LOL. And i should have used more burnt umber washes. The belly should have been more yellow/brownish. I should have used a clear gloss on the water. A different color for the lizard. No blood, LOL. etc, etc, etc...I'm just not ahppy with it at all. Actually, I am not happy with most of the classic Aurora kits that I built/painted when I first got back into this as an adult. if only I had saved them for later when my skills got better....

My fave kits that I have done are these:

I have the Polar Lights Creature reissue which is the first picture I posted.

Thanks! Don't know what happened to mine. I probably just got overlooked.

Remember folks, don't assign motives to text that doesn't clearly spell them out. Ask someone what the meant by a certain remark, first.

Mike wasn't blatantly rude like you were. He never attacked my statement the way you did.

You were holding a grudge against me because I disagreed with you on the whole eBay/PayPal thing, and you saw a window of contention and thought to make me look foolish by suggesting I had made up my statement about my Polar Lights Creature reissue snake having a tongue. When I proved that you were wrong all of a sudden it's "Duh, okay, I guess mine got broke off and I was cross-eyed when I looked at my instruction sheet. I'm gonna pickup my ball and go home. This never really happened."

This kind of pettiness has no place in this forum. Everyone can make up their own minds about what kind of person you are. This is done as far as I'm concerned.

OK, I'll give Rockshasa one more bite of the apple, if he needs it, and then lets move on.

a.) I'm not the one who got confrontational (that would be your post – name-calling me an "ass").
b.) I wasn't blatantly rude.
c.) I'm not the one that called names ("ass").
d.) I didn't see any window of contention (like your 5 rubbed-in posted pics of the Creech with a tongue...LOL, which my response admitted you were right)
e.) And now you're being totally paranoid.

And no, I don't hold grudges!!
It's Easter....so be nice, or the bunny won't visit you on Sunday.

Two weeks back, I found a Pez set, and two Scooby-Doo 2-packs...cannot find the Dracula and Frankenstein sets though. Bummer!
One week back at a lame toy show, I found the Figure's Dracula for $10, and the loose Scooby villain for $2.

10,000 volt ghost!  I managed to score my 2 packs this week.  I passed on the Phantom Racer since the Scooby wasn't any different as far as I could tell, and I'll end up with him from one of the other sets anyway.

I'm definitely hoping these guys do more villains in the future.
