I notice that my snake doesn't have a tongue. Did it break off or is it a separate piece that I must have lost or is there even a snake's tongue in the kit?

The snake doesn't have a tongue, but the lizard does.

On my reissue the snake and lizard both have tongues. Those are usually the first things to break off.

Really! I bought the PL Creature new and it never had a tongue, unless it broke off in the box and was too small to notice.

It's tiny. I painted mine red like the inside of the mouth.

I don't kow about the original Aurora kit, but I have the PL kit and the snake DOES NOT and NEVER DID have a tongue sticking out.
I am looking at the instructions too. The lizard has a tongue though.

Well, the instructions are Aurora. Are the photos you posted all original Aurora kits?

No, he's right. I stand corrected. When I glanced at the instructions I thought that tongue was one of the little pointy arrows.
Obviously, my Creech lost his tongue at some point, or I just didn't bother to glue it on. Not sure, I built this thing back in 2001, so it's been awhile.

In hindsight, I'd love to build/paint this guy all over again. I was dating someone at the time, and rushed through it, because they weren't happy that I wasn't lavishing all my attention on them. It didn't last, to say the least. But if I could tackle this guy all over again, I'd paint him very differently.

I have the Polar Lights Creature reissue which is the first picture I posted. This picture.

The reissue instructions are the same as the pic of the original instructions I posted in that both the reissue and original snakes had tongues. I didn't scan my reissue instruction sheet because I don't want to waste more hosted pics on this. I couldn't find a pic online of the reissue instruction sheet, just the original.

Here's a link to an article about the Polar Lights reissue: http://www.internetmodeler.com/2003/october/figures/Creature/creature.htm

And, here's a photo from that article which clearly shows the snake's tongue:

Why did you go out of your way to make it appear that I was lying?

If I made such an ass of myself I would not only "stand corrected", I would apologize.

I don't like this kind of contentious foolishness, but I also don't like to be called a liar by someone who wasn't even involved in the conversation and went out of their way to take a cheap shot. When you confront people like that with malice you had better know what you're talking about, which it's now clear that you didn't.

You'll enjoy UMA much more by being friendly instead of confrontational. Most of us try to be friendly and enjoy our love of monsters together. UMA isn't full of jerks like most other sites, but we do defend ourselves. Lighten up.
