So you were the one who outbid me on the Frankenstein matchbox.  I was afraid that it went to a matchbook collector, instead of another monster fancier.

By the way, I looked that company up.  The seller was wrong about the box's origin.  It came from Venezuela.

Thanks for the info.  Do you know anything about the plastic pinback? It is licensed -- "c. Universal Studios" is stamped on to the side.  Never seen another like it.

Here is another recent pinback acquisition...

It was a Universal park exclusive.  Don't know what year.  Maybe the brown suit will tell another member the year spread when these would have been sold.

Never seen the campaign button before.  Interesting.

"Reaganstein" would have been an excellent name for an '80s punk band!

I waited until the last day of an estate sale and got it for $10 .. complete and in very good shape.  Why didn't this sell early on?

With all the people looking for things to sell on eBay - it's a mystery.

Nice score!

Color me green like Frankie! I've been wanting a set of these for a while now. But the complete with box sets I've seen are always upwards of $100.00. Lately I've been buying a few monster toys I had as a kid but still on the look out for these. Such a great deal!

The real question is, how could you risk waiting till the last day? This is a real gem. Congratulations.

Those people bug the hell out of me. They'll sell anything, but don't expect them to know anything about what they're selling. If you ask, you'll get the proverbial dumb look.

These Old Maid cards have always intrigued me. I never understood why the card set is so rare? I still have my set.
Great score, btw.

My guess:

Little kids who were still playing Old Maid ( and Go Fish), usually had their toys bought for them by their moms.  Mom don't always share their kids' love of monsters.

Maybe, if these had been targeted at an older audience they would have had a sold more vigorously.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Great buy. About 10 years ago I saw a set for $25.00 but was in a "do I really need all this stuff?" phase... so I passed on it. Crap.
