WHAT ARE OLD FIENDS FOR??  I DID NOT GET ANY COOL MONSTER STUFF THIS WEEKEND AT THE LOCAL FLEAS BUT I DID RUN INTO AN OLD FIEND AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT RECENT FINDS AND I WAS TELLING HIM ABOUT MY MARX FRANKIE WIND-UP (COMIC VERSION) THAT I FOUND AT BRIMFIELD. SO HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAS THE MARX UNIVERSAL VERSION WIND-UP AND HE DOESNT REALLY COLLECT MONSTER STUFF AND ASKED IF I WANTED TO BUY IT. SO I SAID HOW MUCH? AND HE SAID "YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN GOOD TO ME ....I GOT IT FOR TWENTY SO THATS COOL...AT LEAST I KNOW ITS GOING TO A GOOD HOME AND IT WILL BE WHERE IT BELONGS." SO I AM MEETING HIM THIS SUNDAY TO PICK IT UP....NOW THATS A BUDDY!!!

Picked up these 2 games at a church flea market. They were marked 25 cents each, I gave them a few dollars apiece (hey, it was a fund raiser!) Shrieks and Creeks was never played - parts are still in shrinkwrap.

I tried the video from Doorways to Horror (yep, still have a VHS machine...use it, too!) and the tape plays fine. apparently you roll different colors on a die, then fast forward until you see the corresponding color doorway on the VHS. What plays is a clip from a cheesey puplic domain movie, highlighting the monster you interact with. Goofy fun!

I actually found an MP3 of the tape from Shrieks and Groans, so it could be played on an iPod or other mps3 player.

This newly-discovered slide puzzle is another Universal park exclusive.

It is a 2⅞" x 4⅞" puzzle glued to a 6" x 7" card, featuring cartoon Frankenstein & Baby Frankenstein in the same pose as that of the photograph on a postcard.  The Universal Studios sign has been redesigned above them and the GlamorTram has been added.  It was made by KK in 1979.  The same company made slide puzzles for other tourist venues like Busch Gardens, etc.





This is the only Baby Frankenstein item that I have ever seen dated 1979. This extends his short life to include 1976, 1977, 1978 & 1979.

This is also the only Universal Studios souvenir slide puzzle that I have ever seen. Has anyone else ever seen one of these Universal slide puzzles - with any subject mater?
