Monsters For Sale,

That's a SUPER COOL Universal Studios Frankenstein drink holder! It's just like my JAWS drinker holder, and I've never seen another one of those either! At the same time I bought the JAWS drink holder at a theme park stand, I saw a King Kong one just like both of those. I've never seen it again. They must not have made very many of these things or they would turn up online more often.

Yes, it's also made by Fun Designs. So we know there was at least a Frankenstein, a King Kong and a Jaws. They're very well made. I would think there would be a lot of them floating around, but this doesn't see to be the case. I've looked.

Can cozies were a short-lived fad.  The soft, foam rubber ones thrived for a while as advertising items.  Millions were emblazoned with company logos and given away like matchbooks.  They were everywhere.  Few people wanted to buy a stiff rubber holder when the soft ones were usually free.  I can't remember the last time I saw someone using one.

They were never very practical.  They made the cans clumsy to hold and ensured that your drinks would no longer fit into standard chair/car cup holders.  I never thought they kept a drink that much colder.

I don't find it especially surprising that these are scarce.  If they were made as a park exclusive item, there would not have been that many manufactured.

I am surprised that so very few seem to have survived.  My Frankenstein is just the right depth to have been re-purposed as a pen holder and kept sitting on a desk.

Your Jaws shark looks like a good place to keep damaged action figures.  GI Joe lost his legs?  Stuff his torso in the shark's mouth.  (Heh, heh.)

Wow.......M.F.S.! I also have that Frankenstein can holder.  Around 1990, I saw one in a gift store at Universal. He was on clearance. Along with a Bates Motel drink coaster set. The Frankenstein can holder ,I have never seen anywhere, and thought I was the only one. ;D  Awesome find.

WHAT ARE OLD FIENDS FOR??  I DID NOT GET ANY COOL MONSTER STUFF THIS WEEKEND AT THE LOCAL FLEAS BUT I DID RUN INTO AN OLD FIEND AND WE WERE TALKING ABOUT RECENT FINDS AND I WAS TELLING HIM ABOUT MY MARX FRANKIE WIND-UP (COMIC VERSION) THAT I FOUND AT BRIMFIELD. SO HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAS THE MARX UNIVERSAL VERSION WIND-UP AND HE DOESNT REALLY COLLECT MONSTER STUFF AND ASKED IF I WANTED TO BUY IT. SO I SAID HOW MUCH? AND HE SAID "YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN GOOD TO ME ....I GOT IT FOR TWENTY SO THATS COOL...AT LEAST I KNOW ITS GOING TO A GOOD HOME AND IT WILL BE WHERE IT BELONGS." SO I AM MEETING HIM THIS SUNDAY TO PICK IT UP....NOW THATS A BUDDY!!!
