Allow me to preface this post by saying; '' This sh*t NEVER happens to me!'' [Well, up until today anyway]...My wife and i try to make it to as many of the Long Island Car Show / Swap Meets as we can thru out the spring and summer. Today was the first one of the season in St James. There were lots of vendors as always and it was a beautiful day to be outdoors. Most vendors are aware of what their stuff is worth, but when i ran across this one guy who had some beat up boxes with lots of random stuff in them, i spotted one with a bunch of old school Hot Wheels tracks poking out, i had to explore further. I could see a bunch of small stuff at the bottom. I no sooner moved some of the orange tracks out of my way when BANG, a bright yellow Palmer Gorgo was looking back at me! Now i am flinging items out of the box to dig deeper and next found a King Kong and Cyclops amidst the broken army men and Dino figures! When i asked how much he wanted for the 3 the seller said, ''Ahhh, give me a buck!''

Well, i kept digging and soon turned up an MPC Skeleton, Werewolf and Frankenstein, too which meant i had to fork over another buck!

I went back one more time before leaving and while no more monsters turned up, i did find a cool made in Hong Kong alligator jiggler, Blue Bronto figure, old Skull candy container and a weird black monkey hanging upside down by it's tail. It has Deluxe Reading 1966 printed on the chest...my guess is it came from some old game? If anyone has info on it, i'd appreciate it! These guys cost me my 3rd and final buck. Needless to say i'm in a very good mood at the moment...AND while i was cleaning up my purchases, Zacherley called to say Hi! Life just doesn't get any better!

Great stuff for cheap, man. Congrats! I think that black monkey is from the Silly Safari game from the '60s. His foot would hit the metal ball (coconut) which rolled down the tree chute and eventually ended up dropping the cage on whichever animal you tried to capture. I think your Gorgo had the tops of his ears broken off or clipped, unless it is a weird molding issue which made them lay back (can't tell from the front shot). That blue MPC bronty has the common tail chew. Kids chewed more dino butt than other dinos did. But all-in-all a great score! :)
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Yeah, i think you're right about at least one of the ears on Gorgo, HH...I have a good mind to hunt this seller down and demand at least a 30 cent refund!  :D  Thanks guys, for the comments. While i was rifling thru those boxes today, i soon attracted a few rubberneckers and realized i had better do my best to conceal the first Palmers that i found before the whole scene turned into a monster kid feeding frenzy!

Smart man, PALM the Palmers! Seriously though dude, that was a helluva good score!

That reminds me of an episode of American Pickers where they bought a whole corrugated box of loose toys from some guy for like $15. I spotted two Palmers and what seemed to be glimpses of a crapload of other similar stuff! Man, I never fell into a deal even close, and I've spent many a day monsterhunting flea markets, yard sales, and antique malls. But, it was always fun to hunt. :)

Ha!  Thanks also for the info on the monkey...Silly Safari, huh? That makes sense. Especially because in one of those boxes was the clown figure from the old Crazy Clock game.

Picked this up this 1935 book a couple weeks ago. Still intact, though spine cover is gone. I debated due to it's rough condition, but I knew if I passed it up for $5 I'd kick myself later. Love the cover Lugosi image!
