I started a little differently.  I started out wanting Frankenstein in all 4 colors (before I knew there was a 5th), along the way I also acquired a couple of the other monsters and an original display box.  Then the fever took hold!

Before the Frankenstein's got so expensive, I had hoped to fill a whole display with them - HA!

Believe it or not, there was time that I passed on buying a Green Frank for $35.00, because the going price for ALL of the sharpeners was between $3 and $7 and I had already bought one Frank for $17.50.

No one was gonna take advantage of me!

Then news of the actual scarcity of the Frankenstein sharpeners compared to the others got shared all around by places like this, and prices began climbing.

I know. I must have seen that before, just can't think where... Reminded me of the movie Heartbeeps, and that is strange because I have never even seen it.

That's funny, because HEARTBEEPS also came to my mind (and I also have ver seen it).  I also thought of the C3PO parody character from SPACE BALLS.  It doesn't match either one though.  Maybe a C3PO rip off or it was used in an imitation or parody show.  We may never know for sure.
