I scored a pretty good haul last week. The company I work for has been going through severe downsizing. Many layoffs (my current part-time status is one of the results). They also cut the library in half to make room for offices. This was one of the best libraries in town and it's a cryin' shame. They had to get rid of lots of books. I've had a good relationship with the library for a number of years, so they allowed me to peruse the stacks. Here's part of the haul.

Yea, it's mind bending that the investment conglomerate (initials G.S.) that purchased controlling shares in the company a few years ago doesn't have an effing clue, so it's been the proverbial "to hell in a hand basket".
The whole stack is about as tall as me (and I'm 5' 9"). Other books include history of illustration stuff.
I was particularly happy to get my hands on The Creepy Archives (even though I still have all of my old Creepy's) and the Gahan Wilson set. And of course the Reynold Brown and Norman Saunders titles. Oh and there's a nice book of Italian movie posters.

Bob is that showcase a counter or countertop?

It's a freestanding counter piece, that would match up to a long case, a 2x2x2 cube (*at*)4feet tall overall. Mirrored back with a sliding side door. Plus an adjustable shelf inside. I thought it would be good for smaller monster knick knacks.

These are two marionettes I got recently. I don't know who made them or what year they are from, though. I'm guessing maybe they are made somewhere besides the U.S.
